Visonic Security Systems

The MCS-720 is the ideal indoor siren for residential and light commercial buildings, particularly where outdoor sirens are prohibited. This cost effective, two-way wireless siren produces all alerts, with differentiated alarm sounds for intrusion and fire. The extremely strong siren sound and built-in high-power white strobe light ensure the alarm gets noticed.

Fully-supervised with no external power supply required, the siren unit can be installed at a distance from the control panel, allowing the panel to be placed in a concealed location where an intruder cannot see it. Because the siren produces all alerts, the control panel's location remains a secret, preventing an intruder from discovering and disabling the panel's alarm siren. The siren's two-way communication maintain continual supervised communication with the control panel.

The MCS-720 is perfect for use in homes and apartments, vacant vacation homes and in small stores. Featuring an elegant, thin-profile design, it fits unobtrusively in any decor. The easy, cable-free installation guarantees time- and cost-efficient implementation and servicing.

Battery cost makes use of this siren impractical.Review by Chaos Theory
I've been running this siren attached to a Powermax Pro for just over a year, and despite the claim that the battery will last 3 years "under normal use", I'm already getting a low battery indicator.

No big deal-- until you see how much these little batteries are: $37.50, and it seems they are of lower quality as the one it originally comes with (may not last as long).

Find another siren, or just use the base unit, as the cost of ownership with this siren is too high. (Posted on 11/15/14)

This item unfortunately is a must. The folks at Visonic were not terribly clever to integrate the CONTROL UNIT with the KEYPAD/PIEZO ALARM (most split this function into two boxes so the former can be hidden and the latter accessed for control without compromising the integrity of the system). HSS states in their Q&A: "Is an intruder simply able to smash the panel to disarm or disable the PPRO211GSM alarm/siren? A: By the time any potential intruders reach your system, the PPRO211GSM will have already dialed out and notified someone."

But that's not really true. The Visonic has a minimum abort time of 15 seconds before it dials out. During that time, the control panel is sounding off for the thief's convenience so that he knows directly where head with his baseball bat. The only viable workaround is this significant design flaw is to disable any piezo alarms and disarm warning beeps at the main panel and rely upon this wireless remote alarm sounder to provide the internal siren. The pezo faces the wall when the Siren is mounted, there is about a 1/2 in gap from the wall to the Siren, would be a lot louder if Pezo faced outward.Strange Design. Batt. is expensive (Posted on 4/10/12)
