Add Outdoor Security to your wireless alarm system. The VX-402R solves these problems by allowing easily install outdoor detection by using your new or existing wireless technology. The VX-402R is compatible with most manufacturers wireless technology and comes with a weatherized back box for easy installation. VX-402R comes with 100lb. Pet Immunity, provides a 40ft. by 40ft. detection pattern and is completely weatherized for direct exposure to the elements.

Units are larger than I expected so they are obvious and susceptible when placed at recommended height. Know that if you purchase unit, you will also need to purchase a MCT302 unit. Also ask for wiring instructions since there is none with the unit. You need to have outside locations that do not get direct sunlight to take advantage of long range sensing capability of the unit. In high traffic areas, best to set the walk test off. Units work well with Visonic Powermax unit.

We put ours on our back deck to cover an area of approximately 35 feet. Well, it doesn't. It is more like 20 feet, which was disappointing since we wanted to cover anyone attempting to get in by windows OR doors. But now it only covers the door. So make sure you aren't counting on 40 feet.

Upon first receiving this I must admit I was a bit daunted as to how confusing it was to connect to the Visonic PowerMax+ but after speaking with tech suppoort and a few go arounds, I finally wired it and it works like a charn. It undoubtedly has more features than I can put to use (because of where and how I have it installed) but a great unit.! It does take a bit of tweaking to find the optimal settings for sensititvity, range, etc, that best suit your environment, but I'm rather pleased and impressed with this. There are the occasions when it trips and alarms during mid afternoon but that probably has more to do with my still needing to tweak it some more, or possibly a heat sensitivity factor here in the tropics?
