The ones I have (NX491-NT), look the same as in the picture for the current product. After three and a half years, two out of three generated a "low battery" announcement within weeks of each other on the GE Simon 3 Wireless Home Security control panel. Although, I replaced the two CR123 lithium batteries with fresh ones, the low battery signal would not quit. I checked the instructions and it recommended cleaning the unit every so often. I used compressed air (cans normally sold for cleaning computer equipment), to blow off the dust. I put the old batteries back in and that did the trick. Apparently, a "low battery" announcement could also mean that the unit accumulated too much dust on the sensors. If I hadn't cleaned the units with compressed air after trying out new batteries, I would have thought my detectors had failed and bought new ones.
