I purchased this siren to replace an Ademco Wave 2 siren. I really like the sound this siren produces. It isn't super loud, however it is loud enough to be heard in all rooms. It is in a pretty central area in the house. However, I am installing a Simon 3 system at a relative's house and the location I will be mounting the siren at would not be in a central location, and therefore I will not be installing this model in her house. My system is monitored, so I'm not trying to annoy the intruder out of the house, I'm trying to alert the intruder that he or she has been detected, and to alert me that there is an intruder or fire.

Came with the DSC kit I bought. Not nearly loud enough for an alarm speaker - nearly inaudible behind a couple closed doors. Threw it away and replaced it with a 120dB horn.

Siren is okay for a small condo or apartment. Would not be adequate for a single family home, or even a large condo or townhouse. This siren came with a kit I purchased. It was good to do bench testing with the kit. But once the kit was installed, the siren was discarded, and a more suitable outdoor horn was used. But for the price, good for a small condo or apartment or for bench testing one of the kits.

I did not pick this siren, It came with the kit I bought. It is loud if you are in one room. Across multiple rooms and closed doors it is hard to hear. So I had to get another siren for the far side of the house. As far as ease of use its just like wiring speakers very easy other than runing the wire. There are no features in my setup. I give it a 3 overall. Not for large setups and no way to find out other than to set it up.
