The SC100 - Skylink Wireless Home Security System is a totally wireless alarm system that is very easy to install, program, and use. It requires no hard wiring whatsoever. Just read in our review section and see what customers are saying about the SC100. The recommendations alone will sell this system. With a 100 ft range from each sensor to the control panel, the SC100 is capable of covering approximately 3000 square feet. This is more than enough coverage for a home, apartment, condo, or small business. The SC100 is one of Skylink’s best selling systems. The kit comes with everything you need to install the system, from the batteries to the hardware. The kit includes the control panel which incorporates the keypad and the siren (which is extremely loud at 110dB), 1 motion sensor, 2 door and window transmitters, and a keychain transmitter so you can arm and disarm your system remotely. The kit comes pre-programmed so you can just hook up the system and start using it.

The system can incorporate up to 30 accessories including a smoke detector, flood sensor, external siren, and auto dialer. The auto dialer (sold separately) is designed to call up to 9 pre-programmed phone numbers up to 9 times each, using a personalized emergency message up to 40 seconds long.

The SC100 also utilizes what’s called rolling code technology. Skylink is the first company to incorporate this technology in a home or business security system. This guarantees that the control panel will only recognize radio waves from its remote sensors, which prevents high tech thieves from duplicating signals and tampering with your system.

What is Rolling Code Technology?

Every time you press your remote transmitter to turn the security system on or off, a code is generated which is recognized by the receiver that in turn performs the function. With most security systems there is only one assigned code. Whenever the remote is pressed, it generates the same code making it vulnerable to code grabbers who use electronic scanners to steal the code. With rolling code technology each time the remote is used, it generates a different code which can only be recognized by a rolling code receiver. So even if an electronic scanner picks up the code, the next code will not be the same, making the system safe and secure. This kind of technology also reduces false alarms caused by interference with other radio frequency items.

Here is a recap and some additional SC100 Features –

  • DIY Wireless Security System - Easy to install and ready to use, no programming is required.
  • Rolling Code Technology - Leading edge technology that provides maximum security and reduces false alarm.
  • This system is good for most small to medium size house (i.e. approx. up to 3000 ft2). For larger house, more accessories should be added in order to cover all the premises.
  • Works in conjunction with up to 30 Skylink security accessories (including Dial Alert).
  • When the siren goes off, it will immediately send a signal to Dial Alert (sold separately) to call the preset phone numbers.
  • Can be customized to suit individual specific needs.
  • Arm/Disarm using PIN or Keychain Transmitter.
  • Includes a piercing 110dB siren.
  • Lighted keypad with Chime, Instant, Delay mode.
  • Low battery indication.
  • AC power with 9V Alkaline battery backup (included).
  • No monitoring fees.

I bought one of these systems for an apt which my wife & I have in Cozumel MX. We only use the apt a few weeks of the year so I wanted some additional security. This has been installed about 3 years now and apart from changing the batteries twice a year it has had zero problems and has worked so well we have an additional one on order for our 2nd property.

Bought the SC-1001 in June 2013 has been working great easy set up, which also has the dialer so that I would not have to pay a monthly fee which works well also. Planning on buying more sensors to add to the system. Completely satisfied

Bought the SC 100 Skylink Wireless in Mar. 2013 plus an extra motion sensor & an audio alarm for my basement's protection under my one story single home in the woods. The instructions were excellent in details & diagrams of everything. I installed it all in my spare time in a few days. The techs at the Home Store & at the manufacturer in Canada were all patient & very cooperative with my questioning. Everything on my home's 1st floor operated perfectly. The motion sensor in the basement did not make contact with the 1st floor central control unit because it had to pass through too much furniture in its signal path to that central unit. The AA-433W audio alarm installed in the basement was faulty in its operation. Tech. help offered to repair or replace it if I returned it. The Home Store took it back at their shipping cost and refunded the price within their 30day guarentee time because I decided to just use the A-1 operating, $99.00, 1st floor system. All my basement is well secured for now with double locks on windows & doors. With signs around the building warning of my whole house Security System that works great, I would just buy another $99.00 Skylink for the basement if I feel the need to, in the future. BEST THING YOU COULD AFFORABLY PROTECT YOUR HOME & FAMILY WITH FOR THE PRICE. Do it and be SAFE!

I was most interested in a system with simple set-up and motion detection. I bought this as a short-term solution while rehabbing a building. However, after discovering the automatic redialer (included in sc-1001), I am convinced that this system will serve my needs ongoing.

I purchased this alarm system for the purpose of providing peace of mind when sleeping and when not home, in my 1 bedroom apartment. After 2 years, the alarm system is actually pretty good! For the price, I'm actually pleased with it. The automatic calling system sounds 'ok' when it calls, as it sounds somewhat unclear. It took me awhile to set up the entire system, but it can be done. I only recommend changing the batteries to the sensors at least once a year to reduce or prevent any false alarms. I hope this review helped!

I have had this system installed for over 6 months and so far it is great! It works everytime with no false alarms. The instructions were easy to comprehend and installation was a snap. So far I have not even needed to change a battery. This system is highly recommended for a startup alarm system!

Easy to install, works very well. Two things I would like different (1) allownthe user to adjust the delay time from 30 seconds to a lesser time period, and (2) if I am out of town and the alarm is activated it cannot be shutoff remotely.

This system is a piece of junk. Home Security Store Tech support was great, but the product worthless. I’m giving 2 stars only because of excellent Tech support :-)

Took about two hours for me to install,I had to cut out a little molding with razor knife around door trim. Alarm is loud, and was very simple to program. The auto dialer with the SC100 needs to be purchased by itself if you want it to call different telephone numbers.

I wanted a system that was cheap and easy to install. Purchased this system with the addition of another motion sensor and two door sensors. I was able to separate with advance programming my garage from my house whereas I can arm the house and work in the garage. System works flawlessly. Con is I didn’t purchase the dialer do to the bad reviews. Also there is no log of how many times the alarm was activated when away.

I have installed three now for friends. Nobody is disappointed with the system. My experience with this system goes back several years now and they are all still going strong. Some people feel that it might not be as good as it sounds at such a low price. They are wrong. Good unit, GREAT price. Easy to set up and user friendly.

Fairly easy install, considering none of doors in my old shack are straight. Remote is falling apart after a year. IT works well, wish I had bigger signs denoting there is an alarm in the house. Good unit for the price.

Worked great for couple of years until the false alarms started. Replced all batteries, set the motion sensor sensiivity, adjusted the position etc. After weeks of my neighbor complaining about it going off all day, I just ripped everything out and tossed it in the trash.
