The SC100 - Skylink Wireless Home Security System is a totally wireless alarm system that is very easy to install, program, and use. It requires no hard wiring whatsoever. Just read in our review section and see what customers are saying about the SC100. The recommendations alone will sell this system. With a 100 ft range from each sensor to the control panel, the SC100 is capable of covering approximately 3000 square feet. This is more than enough coverage for a home, apartment, condo, or small business. The SC100 is one of Skylink’s best selling systems. The kit comes with everything you need to install the system, from the batteries to the hardware. The kit includes the control panel which incorporates the keypad and the siren (which is extremely loud at 110dB), 1 motion sensor, 2 door and window transmitters, and a keychain transmitter so you can arm and disarm your system remotely. The kit comes pre-programmed so you can just hook up the system and start using it.

The system can incorporate up to 30 accessories including a smoke detector, flood sensor, external siren, and auto dialer. The auto dialer (sold separately) is designed to call up to 9 pre-programmed phone numbers up to 9 times each, using a personalized emergency message up to 40 seconds long.

The SC100 also utilizes what’s called rolling code technology. Skylink is the first company to incorporate this technology in a home or business security system. This guarantees that the control panel will only recognize radio waves from its remote sensors, which prevents high tech thieves from duplicating signals and tampering with your system.

What is Rolling Code Technology?

Every time you press your remote transmitter to turn the security system on or off, a code is generated which is recognized by the receiver that in turn performs the function. With most security systems there is only one assigned code. Whenever the remote is pressed, it generates the same code making it vulnerable to code grabbers who use electronic scanners to steal the code. With rolling code technology each time the remote is used, it generates a different code which can only be recognized by a rolling code receiver. So even if an electronic scanner picks up the code, the next code will not be the same, making the system safe and secure. This kind of technology also reduces false alarms caused by interference with other radio frequency items.

Here is a recap and some additional SC100 Features –

  • DIY Wireless Security System - Easy to install and ready to use, no programming is required.
  • Rolling Code Technology - Leading edge technology that provides maximum security and reduces false alarm.
  • This system is good for most small to medium size house (i.e. approx. up to 3000 ft2). For larger house, more accessories should be added in order to cover all the premises.
  • Works in conjunction with up to 30 Skylink security accessories (including Dial Alert).
  • When the siren goes off, it will immediately send a signal to Dial Alert (sold separately) to call the preset phone numbers.
  • Can be customized to suit individual specific needs.
  • Arm/Disarm using PIN or Keychain Transmitter.
  • Includes a piercing 110dB siren.
  • Lighted keypad with Chime, Instant, Delay mode.
  • Low battery indication.
  • AC power with 9V Alkaline battery backup (included).
  • No monitoring fees.

This system is a piece of junk. Home Security Store Tech support was great, but the product worthless. I’m giving 2 stars only because of excellent Tech support :-)

Took about two hours for me to install,I had to cut out a little molding with razor knife around door trim. Alarm is loud, and was very simple to program. The auto dialer with the SC100 needs to be purchased by itself if you want it to call different telephone numbers.

I wanted a system that was cheap and easy to install. Purchased this system with the addition of another motion sensor and two door sensors. I was able to separate with advance programming my garage from my house whereas I can arm the house and work in the garage. System works flawlessly. Con is I didn’t purchase the dialer do to the bad reviews. Also there is no log of how many times the alarm was activated when away.

I have installed three now for friends. Nobody is disappointed with the system. My experience with this system goes back several years now and they are all still going strong. Some people feel that it might not be as good as it sounds at such a low price. They are wrong. Good unit, GREAT price. Easy to set up and user friendly.

Fairly easy install, considering none of doors in my old shack are straight. Remote is falling apart after a year. IT works well, wish I had bigger signs denoting there is an alarm in the house. Good unit for the price.

Worked great for couple of years until the false alarms started. Replced all batteries, set the motion sensor sensiivity, adjusted the position etc. After weeks of my neighbor complaining about it going off all day, I just ripped everything out and tossed it in the trash.

So easy a caveman can do it. I ordered it with an extra motion detector, and the AA-433 Audio Alarm supplements. The instructions are very easy to follow. The installation, and programming were a snap. Since our apartment seems very well sound insulated, I would still like for the siren to be louder making it easier heard outside, and in other apartments. However, I'm still confident the sound would cause a burglar to make a u-turn. I'm extremely pleased with the unit, and I don't have any buyer's remorse whatsoever. My email information request prior to ordering received prompt attention by a return phone call from Sara (Sarah?), who I found to be quite helpful. She informed me that I would receive the unit in four days, which I did. Five stars for her as well.

For the money this is a good deal. The directions are well laid out and not too hard to read. Bought this for my sis in law's simple three bedroom rambler. The siren is just deafining. Set it off just to hear it and I swear I had some short term hearing loss!. I would advise getting the add on alarm and NOT putting the control panel by the front door though, or programming the backdoor sensors to go off immediately. In 30 seconds someone could walk to the control panel and smash it. My only gripe would be the motion sensor range isn't too great, seems like 20'.

Great system- easy to install and use. Total instal time for control panel, 5 doors sensors and 2 motion sensors- 2 hours. One feature which I would have liked to see is adjustable entry and exit delay times.
