Door contact is functionally good and installation is easy. The instructions for removing a back-cover are 'looking at the figures' that pretty much show nothing. Proper instructions are missing from the instruction sheet. First remove top-cover by gently pressing tab at the bottom with a screwdriver and pulling it apart. Next, to remove the back-cover, put the unit on a flat surface. Hold the unit, press firmly the tab at the left bottom from the front side and slide the back-cover down. The slide will require a good push and once the back-cover is partly down, the pushing of the tab is not required. There is surely a better way to design these snap on covers.

Like other reviews have already said, the housing on these sensors will most likely end up breaking at one point. Too hard of a press with the screwdriver and you will break the tab that keeps the housing snaped in place. I find this to be true for the motion sensors also. I have not broken one of them yet though. Otherwise this unit performs well. The Wisdom is a great system they just need to improve the the housing on their sensors. I would not let this minor problem deter from considering the purchase of the system though.

They work very well and are reliable. As far as the housing, I did't find it to be cheap construction just very difficult to figure out how to take it apart!

As a first-time wireless installer, the door contact was extremely easy to install and configure into the system. My only gripe would be that the entire transmitter/housing could have been designed to be a little smaller.

The instructions are useless and I ended up breaking the unit due to no instructions as to how to remove the snap cover. I had to buy a new one. They really need better instructions and they need to explain in detail how to remove the cover. The second unit was taken apart easily due to looking at the broken one.

I installed 3 with no problem. I installed the 4th contact on a door. After installing cover, I tried to open again to check batt. With little pressure, the clip broke. It's in a place where it can't be seen. So I taped it with white tape. It needs a screw! When the batts have to be changed in 3 to years and the heat and cold have did there damage, I think we all know what will happen. Still, the contacts are good. And I will use them with my system.

The sensors themselves work great and seem to have a powerful signal. That's the important part. But like others have said, these sensors have an aweful case. You will be popping off the covers repeatedly during installation and you are bound to destroy at least one of these. After installation my sensors looked like rats have been chewing on them, because they are just very hard to open without slightly damaging them each time. Open them 20 times (necessary during installation), then you will have a damaged case. One final installation warning. The door magnets have a specific orientation and the manual does not clearly explain this! This took forever to figure out and I thought that my Rokonet system was faulty. Basically if you mount the small magnet on the left then the LED MUST be mounted on the up-side and if the magnet is on the right then the LED MUST be oriented down. If you don't do this right the door magnets will just not work properly because the sensor for the magnet is on one side of the sensor casing.

I just installed nine of these and did not have any problems. I'm ordering another three today! I used a small screwdriver to give the tab a nudge and the cover removes easily. I also used a small screwdriver for pushing the tab for removing the backing plate. Again not a problem. They are easy to mount and wiring them for externals switches is very strait forward.

I have to agree with Jim who found snap cover to be broken easily. I broke the tab on the mounting plate when I tried to snap the cover on during the final mounting. I really hate to use glue, however nothing I can do to fix it. Bad design...

For the price you pay they should have designed the cover with a set screw instead of snap cover. The snap cover breaks off really easy then its no good unless you crazy glue the cover to the base. Good luck changing the batteries.
