The Powermax+ is packed with more features than we imagined and is working flawlessly during our first week of use. Installation took less time than planned. Take the time to read and research the Guides. Your gratification and knowledge gained from such an experience is ample payback. It is worth mentioning that time spent thoroughly pre-reading the installer and user’s guides, several times over, will have a huge pay off for you. Everyone at the Home Security Store were true professionals, i.e., knowledgeable, helpful and courteous. Prior to our installation, they provided a brief review of 'lessons learned', it turned out to be a big timesaver. The homesecuritystore.com site is great.

Now that I have it installed it's a great system. But don't be fooled, unless you are really good at this type of stuff it is not an easy or quick process. They need a quick set-up guide for people that just want to use the basic features. All the extra stuff this system can do didn't do much more for me than make it harder to install.

The unit works as expected and has many more features than I counted on. Installation was fairly smooth once I figured out the arcane method the software designer used (his logic behind the program). Only a couple of hardware snags that were easily talked out using the Technical Support phone line (real people on the end of the line, not a phone tree with infinite loops). All in all, very happy with the systems and have it working in conjuntion with Watchlight Alarm Monitoring (the $8.95 per month system) Out of town on vacation for a couple weeks with the alarm on and no problems except my wife thought that one of our grown kids came into the house while we were out of town. I checked the Activity History and found no activity from the time we left till we returned... Kind of handy to be able to do that. Regards - Bob Griffith

I just installed my system today (5/31/7) and had no problems at all, until I tried to program my unit. I don't consider myself to be stupid, but I followed the steps in the quick programming guide, and I just couldn't get it to work. I finally called Tech Support, (he answered on the first ring) and he had me up and running in about 15 minutes. Piece of cake..... I have dealt with various forms of Tech Support over the years on various products, but I have never run across someone who knew the product inside out, as this person did. My hat is off to you......

The Rokonet system is very intuitive once you go through the effort of programming things. It will be tough at first, but if you're technically savvy, after 6-8 hours of messing with it you will have it mastered. I would say that is a worthy tradeoff because once you beat that learning curve you will have a flexible and powerful security tool that you can customize easily. Just put aside the time and expect to hack your way through it, you won't regret it. I have never used the Homesecurity store before this purchase and the support staff was excellent. I mean they were really informed, and knew the product, in a way that is just not common nowadays. This is a good company and now gets relegated to my top 5 favorite online companies (like Amazon.com, etc.). I also like the fact that the Techsupport phone line takes you direct to actual people. There are not menus and menus of electronic messages and button pushing to get to a real person. A word about the packaging and sensors. First I recommend doing some custom hardware modifications and better securing the actual unit. A person could literally rip the Rokonet off the wall and remove the batteries to disable it. Get a metal strap to better secure the front cover. Secondly the wireless door magnets have an aweful case. Like others have said that is the one real weak aspect of this system. You will be popping off the covers repeatedly during installation and you are bound to destroy at least one of those cases. However the sensors themselves are great...the door magnets, keyfob, and motion sensor all seem to work very well. Also about the door magnets, if you mount the small magnet on the left then the LED MUST be mounted on the upside and if the magnet is on the right then the LED goes down. If you don't do this right the door sensors will not work properly. This was one tricky aspect of installation.

... that no women reviewed this item. I am considering it for my elderly Mom who is recently widowed and would have loved to have heard from the female point of view as in ease of use, etc.

The only reason I did not give 5 star is that I found tabs on door contact PCB housing are easily to be broken off. I have to order a new assembly to have it mounted if I do not use glue. Other than that this is a great system. I found it very easy to program and set up. However you need to spend some time ahead to read through the manual. The manual is not bad organized.

Even though I had to read the two manuals three times before I started, I managed to get it set-up in about eight hours. The manual is well written, and not too technical. Hardest part was getting use to the system setup. I installed the sensors on two floors of a concrete building and the reception is very well. Overall, I'm happy so far, but will have to see how many false alarms I receive over the next week.

This is a great system. It's alot to absorb when you first read the manual, but if you follow everything from start to finish then it will make perfect sense. I didn't need to call support at all. It took me about 6 hours to install this kit + 2 extra wireless pet PIR.

Great system, I would recommend to everyone. I do think for $35.00 a contact they could have made the cover with some kind of set set screw other then a snap cover which will break off if your not carefull. I wish the remote keypad would light up also. Other then that it is a very nice system. Program/install took less then one day (28 windows and doors, remote keypad and hardwire siren) and didn't even call for help.

This system is awesome! We have two animals (dog and a cat) and I was apprehensive to install the motion detector although it states it is pet immune. It works great. It hasn't false alarmed once. This system truly exceeded my expectations, and it was really fun to install. I highly recommend it for a small apartment, big house or a business.

The Wisdom wireless security system is everything it says it is , works great, have had no complications, and TECH support is incredible and has walked us through everything completly . The normal home owener could set there house up in one full day of install.

This unit installation is not for the average handyman. Follow the flow chart on page 2-1 exactly (no short cuts). Do not follow sequential pages in the installation manual (appears to be written by a Programmer) . Easier if 2 people are doing the installation and best if you have my brother that has a Master's in Electrical Engineering. Calls for the help to manufacturer were deflected to Security Store Tech Support. Tech Support lines are continually busy so tried the alternate recommended E mail Unit appears to be working now.
