This wireless motion alert driveway alarm system from Chamberlain provides added peace of mind without wires or power connections. It can be placed near your driveway, storage areas, doors and windows, pool gate, or - it’s even small enough to fit inside a commercial jewelry display box.

Just place the sensor near any location needing notification or protection. If the sensor detects activity it will send a signal to the receiver which will then sound a tone and flash a red alert light. For ultimate protection, the receiver can even be set to trigger your home alarm system, plus it can be set to activate other devices such as a doorbell, buzzer, or light.

The RWA-300R detects motion up to 30 feet away with a wide 120 degree coverage range. The alert system is portable and lightweight for use inside or outside. The sensor comes in a dark green color and has a tough weather-proof and water-proof exterior which makes it durable in even the most extreme conditions.

The RWA-300R uses a passive infrared sensor to detect movement of people and vehicles. The sensor has an adjustable sensitivity which prevents false alarms from small animals and such. In addition, the sensor can be mounted and should be able to swivel as needed.

The RWA-300R can work with up to 4 sensors. The receiver runs on one 9 volt battery and the sensor requires 4 AA batteries which should last up to two years. Batteries are not included within the kit.

The RWA-300R is very easy to install and maintain. There is a 3 page user’s manual which walks you through the installation and testing process.

This wireless motion alert and driveway alarm system is part of Chamberlain’s Do-It-Yourself product line. Chamberlain is one of the most trusted names on the market when it comes to driveway alarms, garage door openers, and gate operators.

Please note that the manufacturer lists the range from base to sensor to be 900 feet. However, this range may be obstructed by walls and other structures. Home Security Store technicians have found the system to work around 100 feet within the confines of an average home’s interior and exterior walls.

Here is a recap with some additional Features:

• New feature: Temporary mute - A one button press can stop alerts for one hour.
• Reports up to 4 individual transmitters, each with a distinct ring.
• PIR Transmitter operates on 4xAA batteries for 2 years.
• PIR features adjustable sensitivity and detection range.
• Sensor water and sun shield helps to eliminate false alarms.
• Battery back-up feature in the receiver, with low battery notification.
• Water-proof in any climate. UV hardened for the hottest climates.
• Receiver features sound control; adjust for how long to sound or delete internal buzzer.
• Code learning system only responds to sensors assigned to it.
• Receiver features outputs to drive external bell or alarms.
• Can be used to trigger your home or commercial alarm.
• Each transmitter can report to multiple receivers.
• Extremely easy to use and install.
• Comes with a 1-year manufacturer’s warrantee.

use the contacts and a 1k resistor to add this to my alarm system for a super long range wireless motion detector. Perfect for an outbuilding or shop or garage. Alarm can then be programmed to chime when trpped.

I dont think the good reviews are from real customers. Do not buy this product the range on it is very short. 20 feet is more like it. Even if you have both units outside and can see each other the farthest I can get it to reach is 45 feet. Then when you take the receiver in it drops down to 20 feet. It will also miss a lot of cars and people after you get it set up in range. The sensor on the pole will pick them up but the buzzer wont go off all the time.

The range of this product is much less than advertised. I couldn't receive a signal at a distance of 100 feet.

Set it up for my Mother in her drive, and she loves it. I was concerned about the battery usage on the transmitter, but it's been in use for two months and it's still sending a strong signal off of the original batteries. (I figure it's used an average of 5 to 10 times a day) I have found that if you are going to have a lot of expected traffic, just put a piece of electrical tape over the sensor.

no matter how we set it up, it does not work all the time. Also false alarm at times.

This is a good enough driveway sensor, but it does have some cons-- 1. Sensor setup is key. If you follow the instructions and are prepared to reposition it as necessary after a few runs, you'll find a sweet spot for your drive that will catch most (but not all) vehicles. 2. The sensor needs a battery. The battery seems to last about 4 to 6 months. Everytime you need to replace the battery, you need to unscrew the entire sensor unit from wherever you have it mounted to reach the screws in the sensor mount itself. Then it's another 4 screws to open up the sensor and swap out the battery. Eight screws later, you put it all back together. Prepare to do this 2 or 3 times a year, which is a real pain. 3. The buzzer is loud. I can hear it virtually anywhere in the house. A pro or a con depending upon how you look at it. Wish it had at least 2 volume settings. In terms of features, it has none. You plug it in, and you forget about it until a car comes up your drive. A problem with all of these kinds of driveway sensors is keeping the sensor clear. Halfway through last summer, spiders decided the recessed area of the sensor would make a great home and spun a nice web in there, blocking the sensor. I would think something designed for outdoor use might take insects and such into account, but apparently not....

A little tricky to get it to work all the time. I had it on a wooden pole about 3' from my driveway, played w/the range and sencitivity [spelling]...picks up people great but misses cars sometimes. After reading instructions again... I moved it to about 9-10' from driveway, seems to be working much better now. You can turn the unit on/off or 1 hour mute from a single button on house unit but, no volume control. The sound it produces is a buzz sound [long or short buzz] it's loud enough to hear from a second room if the house is pretty quiet. Don't know how long the alkaline batteries will last in the sensor outside, it's only been a few days.

This motion sensor system is extremely easy to set up and works well right out of the box. I bought 3 extra motion senors and installed one on each side of the house. I don't know how well it works with cars, but it senses people's movement at 15 feet easily (haven't tested it's outer range limits yet). The chime is reasonably loud. I can hear it from anywhere in my single story house. If your house is larger, hook something up to the output relay so you can hear it from all 3 floors with the washing machine an blow dryer going. But if you can't hear the chime from the next room, then maybe you are going deaf. Eh? If it catches even one peson in my yard who is up to no good, it will be worth every dime.

i like this system, the only thing i don't like is that when the sensor indicates, a light flashes, i guess thats why its in my price range.

where do these reviews come from...they surely don't come from real customers. i purchased two rwa300r units for my home and the alarm buzz can't be heard 20feet away.yes, you can hook an aux. bell but this isn't how the reviews read.

Easy to put together and easy to use. We are not able to see our driveway from our home without getting up, going into the laundry room, etc. So this is great. We know when people are approaching before they are there. So we can avoid certain visits! I would say buy it. It is a great piece of mind for the outdoor areas.

Rather dissapointed with this, I replaced my old drive alert with this one at my business because the old one falsed too much. This one lets way too many vehicles (even large vans) go right by with no alert at all! I may go back to having a false now and then, at least nothing got by my other one!

we use this on our driveway here at work, because our admin cannot see the end of the driveway, so when cars come in she has no idea when someone comes or goes. But after buying this driveway sensor, problem solved, she loves it, and for the price, you cant beat it!!

Nothing fancy here - but if you have a long driveway like mine (600' +/- winding uphill into the woods), it sure comes in handy to know someone's coming up the drive. I used 2 detectors so I can hear them progress up the driveway - and this also helps to sort out the nuisance warnings when an animal roams thru the yard. Total install & setup time w/2 detectors was barely a 1/2 hour.

Its a little trying to setup and teach the unit and if you use it anywhere near a major road it will go off when 70% of the cars pass. However, back in country on isolated roads, driveways or shops it works excellent.

Works as advertised....but I would add two more features. First: include a volume control or length of intruder alert signal. Secondly: Include more that 1 hour of silenced alarm audible. Love this product averall, though! Fully recommended for the price! Best Regards, BG Granier

While this lacks the bells and whistles of more expensive models, I could hardly be happier. It worked flawlessly out of the box, and marks all human and vehicle traffic into the driveway with a loud beep that can be heard throughout my two story home. The only con with this item is that you cannot control the volume. This is a minor complaint, and for the money well worth it!

This has been a great unit for monitoring my driveway at home. It's been in service for almost 5 years so far and has yet to ket me down. With only 2 battery changes so far! The only improvement I would make is adding a mute for the announcer option. This thing works Great! Mark Martinez
