I ordered this motion detector as an addition to one that is included in the base system. My family room is 30' long. I can get a second step into the room and the sensor is activated. I just installed the system so I will have to wait to see how it holds up over time. A lot of systems sell at about the same price but when you take into consideration the cost of additions this system beats all the others. Additional devices can really drive a system price up. These install so easy I'm thinking about adding a couple more.
