stuff

With a slight edge over the original PowerMax Plus, the KIT 2 PowerMax Wireless Alarm Kit is a very affordable and very advanced home monitoring system, created for the do-it-yourself home owner ready to knit a warm blanket of protection over their property and loved ones. Great for homes, apartments, condos and small offices, this durable home security system is the best starter kit for defense against theft and fire.

Keypad

The keypad is your command center. It houses all of your settings along with the control panel and siren. How will you know if your alarm has been triggered? This kit allows you to choose if you want an outside alarm company monitoring your home or if you'd prefer to have activity sent directly to you via cell phone, pager or email- or both! If you hire an alarm monitoring organization, the keypad incorporates hands free 2-way voice communication for constant connection between you and them. That means full-time security, 24/7!

Want to arm/disarm your system while you're at work? No problem. Through an internet connection, you can control your alarm system with a few clicks. With the home automation feature, you can also turn on lights and appliances in your home while you're away. Built-in X10 support allows you to activate 15 electronic devices via internet connection.

New Accessories

The big difference between the original PowerMax Plus and the new Kit 2 is the added alarm accessories. This kit includes 3 door and window contacts, a pet immune motion detector and 2 key fobs! For families, these added features make monitoring so much easier and effective - it's no wonder why this is one of the most popular and recommended alarm systems available today.

Zones

With these accessories, you get 28 wireless zones of monitoring and 2 hardwired zones. We suggest this product homes, apartments and small offices because that's a perfect amount of coverage for these properties.

Expansion: Your Choice

But the best part: you can keep expanding your system if you want to. Because of internet monitoring, you can add cameras to your system and monitor while you're away! With the POWERLINK video surveillance control unit, you have the option to add up to 4 wired or wireless color cameras (Note: The CAM-2000WL Wireless Color Camera is the only camera that will work with this system). You can also add more contacts, motion detectors and key pads if you want to. The PowerMax Plus Kit 2 Wireless Alarm System is a complete security solution for anyone ready to start building their safety.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the major difference between the Powermax Plus and Powermax Plus Kit2?
The only significant difference between the two Powermax Kits is that the Powermax Plus Kit 2 includes an extra sensor and keyfob.

How loud is 85 DB
85 decibels sounds about as loud as an alarm clock.

What is the range of the keyfob?
The keyfob has a reported range of up to 150 feet.

What does "hardwired zones" mean?
This means that non-wireless accessories including sensors, keypads and sirens can be attached to and used with your Powermax Plus Kit2.

Is there a code I can input to alert the police of an emergency without a potential intruder knowing I've done so?
Yes, this is known as latchkey. The feature is also frequently used to inform parents of a child's arrival to the home.

What is private number dialed?
If you have your system programmed to latchkey mode, the PowerMax Plus Kit2 is able to deliver a message to any number, including private numbers, when the system is disarmed by a "latchkey user."

What is private monitoring GSM?
By attaching an optional GSM module to your Powermax Plus Kit2, your alarm signal can be routed to the Central Monitoring Station through a nationwide GSM network. With a GSM module a phone line connection is not necessary, though they are frequently used as back-ups to the phone line.

What does two way voice mean?
Two-way voice communication allows you to communicate with people present in your household through the Powermax Plus Kit2 by simply dialing into the system using an outside phone. Unlike regular telephone conversations, in which you can interject a few words while the other party speaks, this system allows one way speech at a time.

Good security system and very easy to install. Telephone support was outstanding when I encountered a problem initializing the alarm system. I was on hold for 10 minutes, but I can live with that. Thanks Home Security Store. Anthony

I bought the Visonic POWERMAX+ KIT2 Powermax Plus Wireless Alarm Kit about a month ago, after setting it up, the motion detector was detecting movement even when it was disarmed, called customer service, never picked up the phone, tried to return the item and was sent back to me because it was already installed so whatever you do, if you want to try it, DO NOT INSTALL IT.

I have had the system for two and a half years now and it works fine. I have the outside siren/strobe and five motion sensors. along with switch contacts at key locations. I also connected the X10 interface which flashes all the exterior lights and some interior lights. Lots of noise and lights. The neighbors know and call the cops. I do plan to go to central station in the future. The only draw back is the phone interface. The system would be perfect if there were an interface to cell phones to do everything from panels after entering a security code.

I have had this system for about 4 years now. I love it. DVD does walk you thru it with ease. Love the key fobs. Feel much safer with this unit installed. Very loud have not hooked up outside siren yet,but planning on it in near future. Cannot beat what you get for the price. Own a home in another state got one of the brand name systems have had more problems with that than ever have with the powermax plus.

I've had this system for over a year now and can't recommend it highly enough...great system!! I liked it so much I bought a second one for my Mother's house also. You can purchase this system without fear of getting burnt. The HSS and Visonic are a great combo.

Beware. While this system is GSM capable, the optional GSM module for the Powermax+ does not seem to be avaialable anymore and you will need to upgrade to a powermax pro instead if that is something you want to use. Otherwise, system is great

I have had my system for a year now and it works great. The initial setup was a bit tedious but got through it. Just wish there was an app for my android that would help with the dial-up functions. When the alarm goes off at 3AM and you are attempting to fix the issue it is hard since it is only an occasional use of this function, remembering the codes and sequences to check status. I will, in the future, setup the central station feature.

This is a followup to a review I wrote in September. After having my Powermax installed for about a month I had a problem with the unit that I could not resolve. I called the Store Support Line and after a 10 minute wait I was connected to Jeffery, one of the techs. He was excellent. Many online stores say they will provide tech support for their products and more times than not the support is lousy. This is not the case for the Home Security Store. Jeffery was very patient and knowledgeable as he helped me to identify and fix the problem with the system. I was probably on the phone with him for an hour but we finally fixed the problem. I could not be happier with the support I got and highly recommend the store for your security needs.

I purchased the Powermax+ a couple of weeks ago and recently installed it. I am 68 and have average skills with computers and electronics. I have never installed a security system before this installation. After recieving the package in the mail I read the Installer's Instruction Manual and got very little from it. When I purchased the Powermax+ I was greatly influenced by the fact that the package contained an Instructional Video to help with the installation. I started watching it and was pleased to see that it was designed to take the novice installer, like me, through the installation process, step by step. By following the video it took me about 4 hours to get the system "setup" on my card table. The instructions tell you to completely setup the Powermax and all its components before actually installing them in their respected locations. This setup process did not go without problems. The video helped a lot but does not provide a lot of help in resolving problems. The installer's book was of little help in this area also. I was able to get the additional help I needed to resolve my issues by going online and looking at other Powermax Installers Manuals. I never had to call the Home Security Store. The installation of the components in my house took about 6 hours. After the complete installation the System is working as it should, but it has only been online for a few days. I do recommend the Powermax+ with the Installation Video. I know I would not have been able to install the system without it unless I recieved a lot of help from the store staff. I rated the Powermax+ four stars instead of five because the manuals are written for people who are either professional installers or a lot smarter than me. The authers simply ommit information with no explanation of what terms mean. Yet the installer needs this information to make decisions.

I have had this system for about a year now. A little hard to program, but if you watch the video this is not a problem. Tech support is a little slow via e-mail but is very helpful! I would definatly recommend this system.

I have had this system in place for three years now. It was easy to install and programming was not too difficult but took some time. The door monitors, motion senor and key fobs have all worked perfectly. I have had to change one battery in one door sensor. There was an earlier review about someone with a door sensor out and not being able to set the alarm because of that - that person is wrong, there are several ways to overide that. The ability to expand this system into nearly full home automation is phenomenal. I have not yet done this as some of the accessories are expensive. I would recommend this system to anyone in the market.

I've had the Visonic alarm for probably 4 or 5 years now and it provides peace of mind and works great. I have multiple motion detectors and got the smoke alarm and keyfobs. I'd recommend it to anyone, it's better to be safe than sorry. I didn't have any problems setting it up at all.

Highly recommend. It was very easy to install and I love the flexibility to modify, expand and control my system verus using the other contract services and being limited to their packages. I love the ability to add and expand my system at my choosing. It is an excellent system and has worked flawless. The x-10 home automation is a little more challenging but, it will work with a little time on setting up. The DVD is very helpful. I have many neighbors ask why I went with Home Security Store versus the typically contract services. Once I show them what I got, it's ease of installation and the cost for monitoring, they can see through overall cost is much better.
