Advanced Home Security and Management System. Redefining industry standards for convenience and peace of mind, PowerMax Plus is the most advanced home security and automation platform available today. PowerMax Plus offers easy yet flexible configuration and clean wireless installation. For ease of installation kit has Pre-Programmed Sensors. The Powermax Plus Security System offers you a wide variety of options and accessories. You choose whether or not you want to use a monitoring system or simply have it call your phone or pager -- or it can do both!

The Visonic PowerMax Plus is one of those systems that can take the guesswork out of setting up security for your home. It's perfect for a smaller home or apartment, or someone that's just starting out with home security. Many of those people don't know what they need or don't want to make a big financial commitment at the beginning. This kit is a fraction of the cost of custom systems. However, it does provide a complete security solution, as well as the option to add on more features and equipment later-again, without having to call in a pro.

Think about the most vulnerable areas of your home. This would be a great place for one of Visonic's MCT-302 magnetic contact transmitters. Two of these are included in the starter kit. Each one can be easily placed at any door or window opening. Don't worry about Fido interfering with the system, either. The included K9-85 MCW will take care of your four-legged friends. This sensor can distinguish between man and man's best friend (or friends); working with the system so that pets won't constantly trigger the alarm. Instead, if a guarded window or other area is opened, the MCT-302 will send a signal back to a two-way wireless keypad. Want to protect additional areas? Transmitters can also be purchased separately, and added to any area around your home.

Although the system comes pre-programmed, the keypad area is also where you would add in other products. Of course, there are plenty of those! One neat idea is to add a few cameras into the mix. This will allow you to take a peek at your property, when you are inside the home. Two PowerLink packages are also available, and can provide those shots to you anywhere there's a web connection. It's not just convenient for when you're out of town, but also to see if there has been a delivery, when the kids get home from school, and any other day-to-day activities.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the major difference between the Powermax Plus and Powermax Plus Kit2?
The only significant difference between the two Powermax Kits is that the Powermax Plus Kit 2 includes an extra sensor and keyfob.

How loud is 85 DB
85 decibels sounds about as loud as an alarm clock.

What is the range of the keyfob?
The keyfob has a reported range of up to 150 feet.

What does "hardwired zones" mean?
This means that non-wireless accessories including sensors, keypads and sirens can be attached to and used with your Powermax Plus Kit2.

Is there a code I can input to alert the police of an emergency without a potential intruder knowing I've done so?
Yes, this is known as latchkey. The feature is also frequently used to inform parents of a child's arrival to the home.

What is private number dialed?
If you have your system programmed to latchkey mode, the PowerMax Plus Kit2 is able to deliver a message to any number, including private numbers, when the system is disarmed by a "latchkey user."

What is private monitoring GSM?
By attaching an optional GSM module to your Powermax Plus Kit2, your alarm signal can be routed to the Central Monitoring Station through a nationwide GSM network. With a GSM module a phone line connection is not necessary, though they are frequently used as back-ups to the phone line.

What does two way voice mean?
Two-way voice communication allows you to communicate with people present in your household through the Powermax Plus Kit2 by simply dialing into the system using an outside phone. Unlike regular telephone conversations, in which you can interject a few words while the other party speaks, this system allows one way speech at a time.

I've had this system for over a year now and can't recommend it highly enough...great system!! I liked it so much I bought a second one for my Mother's house also. You can purchase this system without fear of getting burnt. The HSS and Visonic are a great combo.

Beware. While this system is GSM capable, the optional GSM module for the Powermax+ does not seem to be avaialable anymore and you will need to upgrade to a powermax pro instead if that is something you want to use. Otherwise, system is great

I have had my system for a year now and it works great. The initial setup was a bit tedious but got through it. Just wish there was an app for my android that would help with the dial-up functions. When the alarm goes off at 3AM and you are attempting to fix the issue it is hard since it is only an occasional use of this function, remembering the codes and sequences to check status. I will, in the future, setup the central station feature.

This is a followup to a review I wrote in September. After having my Powermax installed for about a month I had a problem with the unit that I could not resolve. I called the Store Support Line and after a 10 minute wait I was connected to Jeffery, one of the techs. He was excellent. Many online stores say they will provide tech support for their products and more times than not the support is lousy. This is not the case for the Home Security Store. Jeffery was very patient and knowledgeable as he helped me to identify and fix the problem with the system. I was probably on the phone with him for an hour but we finally fixed the problem. I could not be happier with the support I got and highly recommend the store for your security needs.

I purchased the Powermax+ a couple of weeks ago and recently installed it. I am 68 and have average skills with computers and electronics. I have never installed a security system before this installation. After recieving the package in the mail I read the Installer's Instruction Manual and got very little from it. When I purchased the Powermax+ I was greatly influenced by the fact that the package contained an Instructional Video to help with the installation. I started watching it and was pleased to see that it was designed to take the novice installer, like me, through the installation process, step by step. By following the video it took me about 4 hours to get the system "setup" on my card table. The instructions tell you to completely setup the Powermax and all its components before actually installing them in their respected locations. This setup process did not go without problems. The video helped a lot but does not provide a lot of help in resolving problems. The installer's book was of little help in this area also. I was able to get the additional help I needed to resolve my issues by going online and looking at other Powermax Installers Manuals. I never had to call the Home Security Store. The installation of the components in my house took about 6 hours. After the complete installation the System is working as it should, but it has only been online for a few days. I do recommend the Powermax+ with the Installation Video. I know I would not have been able to install the system without it unless I recieved a lot of help from the store staff. I rated the Powermax+ four stars instead of five because the manuals are written for people who are either professional installers or a lot smarter than me. The authers simply ommit information with no explanation of what terms mean. Yet the installer needs this information to make decisions.

I have had this system for about a year now. A little hard to program, but if you watch the video this is not a problem. Tech support is a little slow via e-mail but is very helpful! I would definatly recommend this system.

I have had this system in place for three years now. It was easy to install and programming was not too difficult but took some time. The door monitors, motion senor and key fobs have all worked perfectly. I have had to change one battery in one door sensor. There was an earlier review about someone with a door sensor out and not being able to set the alarm because of that - that person is wrong, there are several ways to overide that. The ability to expand this system into nearly full home automation is phenomenal. I have not yet done this as some of the accessories are expensive. I would recommend this system to anyone in the market.

I've had the Visonic alarm for probably 4 or 5 years now and it provides peace of mind and works great. I have multiple motion detectors and got the smoke alarm and keyfobs. I'd recommend it to anyone, it's better to be safe than sorry. I didn't have any problems setting it up at all.

Highly recommend. It was very easy to install and I love the flexibility to modify, expand and control my system verus using the other contract services and being limited to their packages. I love the ability to add and expand my system at my choosing. It is an excellent system and has worked flawless. The x-10 home automation is a little more challenging but, it will work with a little time on setting up. The DVD is very helpful. I have many neighbors ask why I went with Home Security Store versus the typically contract services. Once I show them what I got, it's ease of installation and the cost for monitoring, they can see through overall cost is much better.

At first I was a little overwhelmed looking at the user installation manual, but once I started watching the DVD instructions and going step by step, it was super easy. I really do not do well reading instructions but the watching the DVD and being able to pause it and then do a step, wow, I was amazed at the ease. It is a great system. I had trouble getting my phone line cleared to allow the system to dial out, contacted tech support for assistance, they were very respondent and right on the mark!! I called once and was on hold for a bit but emailing was a better route and besides, then I could print the instructions out and take it near the base unit to follow step by step. Would recommend to everyone both the product and the Home Security Store for the purchase. Thanks alot!!

What an excellent company to help dodge the 50/month traditional alarm system, and their association with alarmrelay.com. I chose this model on the recommendation of alarmrelay.com because the gsm module (cell phone back up) can be used without higher monitoring fees. The people at Alarmrelay are AMAZING about helping you get activated--stayed on the phone with me for over 20 minutes and helped me work out my own phone line problems--I couldn't believe it. Got me up and monitored so I could go out of town for the weekend and relax. Sadly I had to pay dearly for 2 day shipping (really?!) but the system arrived with all the door monitors and motion detector already programmed into the system. The DVD for set up was awesome, I watched it a few times and may start buttoning my top button :-) Homesecuritystore.com has very good phone support, answered pretty quickly and were sincere in directing me to their forums for the best information and advice. It's too bad the GSM module went out of stock days after I got my system, and that the availability date has been pushed back already. Without it there's not much point to choosing this system.

I purchased this system due to its high rating and reasonable cost. It was very reasonable to install, and the DVD that came with it was very explicit in its instructions, and very useful during the installation. I've been very pleased with the system, and very pleased with my purchase from homesecuritystore.com

I've felt very good about the purchase of the system until yesterday. It installed simply, probably taking 4 hours from start to finish with installing the hardware and programming. I self monitor the system and it calls immediately upon being set off. I do wish the door contacts were a bit smaller and yesterday the front door contact went out. The battery is still good but it won't recognize that the door is closed so I can't turn on the rest of the alarm until I figure out how to program that one door out of the system. It is still under warranty and I will be sending the door contact in, but I don't live in a very safe neighborhood and now have concerns about the next week where shipping of the parts is going to effectively leave my house without an alarm. My system is about 2 months old.
