Great for homes, apartments, condos and small offices, this durable home security system is the best starter kit for defense against theft and fire.

This alarm key pad is your command center. It houses all of your settings along with the soft key control panel and siren. How will you know if your alarm has been triggered? The key pad incorporates hands free 2-way voice communication for constant connection between you and an alarm monitoring organization. That means full-time security, 24/7!

Just the right amount of accessories are included with this alarm kit for monitoring your property effectively. 2 easy installation door/window contacts are included to keep entry ways guarded and the control panel is capable of adding more transmitters at your discretion! A wireless Pet-tolerant PIR motion detector is also included and just like the contacts- even more can be added! The Plus's key fob makes arming and disarming simple from inside or outside your home and- yes, more of these can be added to this system as well!

With these accessories, you get 28 wireless zones of monitoring and 2 hardwired zones. We suggest this product for homes, apartments and small offices because that's a perfect amount of coverage for these properties.

Because of internet monitoring, you can add cameras to your system and monitor while you're away! With the POWERLINK video surveillance control unit, you have the option to add up to 4 wired or wireless color cameras (Note: The CAM-2000WL Wireless Color Camera is the only camera that will work with this system).

I purchased this system in December of 2008 and had it installed in my home and it has performed very well. I have had two problems with the door windows wireless contacts, but I think that is because of the metal windows. Overall I am quiet satisfied with the product and its performance.

Anonymous User, I am impress with your write-ups and guide of installation. How did you resolve the 4 wire terminals? I am trying to learn the installation before deciding buying as I am afraid I may not smart enough to DIY.

I have had the power max plus for 3 years now. Excellent system. I only remember 1 unexpalined false alarm and another with my cat jumping in front of the sensor. Only problem I have now is the display went out due to lightning. Not there fault but do have to buy a whole new panel. Made in Israel...they know security!

I have had this system for 2 1/2 years and love it. I have never once had a false alarm. Still am using the original batteries for the sensors. Works great. Alarm Relay is fantastic. Highly recommend them! Every time I have contacted them, they are intelligent and polite. If I accidentally have set off my own alarm, they call me within seconds to see if everything is okay. A really great company!

The Visonic Powermax+ Wirelss is a good system. That's the good news. The bad news, and it is bad news, it is VERY difficult to program. The CD that comes with the system is some help but is not well done or designed. The CD does not mention or explain all of the stuff that shows in the control panels window as you try to program the system.

I have had his system for a couple of years now. I had it unsupervised for a year before getting a service. Much cheaper to do the DIY system than going commercial! I have had no false alarms. It calls you for sensor tamper alerts, power outages and low batteries. The system is very customizable. You can add sensors as you need to or as you can afford them. We went mainly with the motion sensors since we have 13 openings. Advise to spend the money on the smoke sensor and have it supervised. Two reasons: 1) more likely to have fire than burglary (depending on location) 2) a fire doubles in size every 15 seconds.

I have two of the PowerMax+ installed at different locations since February of 2007. One location has had three false alarms and the other none. Overall this system has been very reliable and gives great peace of mind. I have used almost all the features of this system and they all work perfectly once you get to know the system. Wouldn't be without it. Haven't figured what the cause of the false alarms may have been. One motion sensor in the garage at -30f and two in the house. Extreme cold/insects crawling across the sensor? Unknown. Would recommend this system without reservation. Peace of mind worth the investment.

I have two systems and they work great. One is in a barn and the other a lakehouse. In the lakehouse, I have the burgler detectors, flood detector, smoke detector, temperature detector. In case the heating fails, the system will call me when the temp gets below 45 degrees. I have the system set to also call me if the power ever goes out for longer than 1 hour as that also is a signal that I will have heat problems if that occurs in the wintertime. Over the past 3 years, there have been times when the system has called me to alert me that my keyfob battery was getting low...and same for a motion detector. That is pretty cool! Hard to beleive they can put this much logic into such a low cost system. The systems works great and i have NEVER had a false alarm in either my barn or lake house. I have recomended this system to two friends that also purchased and are very happy.

I've been using this setup for about three years now. For the most part I have been very satisfied with the ease of use and functionality. However I am on my second control panel. Just after a year the display screen ceased to function. Contacting the manufacture and the Home security Store I learned that these units are not repaired and I had to purchase a new one at full cost. I did and now the this one has a problem with the phone line circuit. Hopefully this one can be replaced with the warranty.

This is a great system. The user and installers manuals are a little difficult to grasp but if you watch the instruction DVD you will have no problem. I have been using the system for 3 months with no issues.

Bought the system with some trepidation, having never done anything like this before. I was fully prepared to have this installed professionally but after reading the reviews decided to try myself first. Read the manual once, watched the DVD once and then began programming the unit with Freddie on the DVD, rewinding and replaying as needed. Was done programming in 1 hour, adding- 1 extra door contact, one 2 way keyboard, 2 motion detectors. On day two took one hour to mount the various contacts and motion detectors, today mounted the main unit and keyboard and I am done. Great product, the DVD was a big help, so far have not needed to call for tech support but may need to call them if I am unable to do remote commands through my cell phone, have tried twice and no luck so far. Overall very pleased, works exactly as described, hope to expand the system with some glassbreak detectors and a smoke detector soon. -gill86

should have bought a cheaper basic one, it is always in trouble mode since I have no phone line to put in it. The motion sensor does not detect motion.

Programming is a pain, but the Powermax system saved our house a few days ago. Linseed Oil soaked rags spontaneous combusted in garage and the fire melted the security system door sensor. Even though system was unarmed, it called our cell phones to report a tamper alarm at 3AM. i was able to kick in the back door of garage and put out fire with a garden hose. House smoke alarms did not go off - new house with tight construction so smoke had not migrated through from garage. 5 minutes later and this would have been a real disaster for us! I'll be adding more sensors after restoration work is complete!!!!!

Great system. I had it up and running in 2 hours. Manual is a little hard to understand. Had to read it a few times to get a handle on programing instructions. The do it yourself video was a great help would suggest you watch this first. System works great!

I have had the PowerMax+ system for 3 years. It includes 3 fob's,2 motion detectors, outdoor siren and separate light strobe,5 door units, smoke detector,x-10 module to drive 4 105db sirens, and MK-150 keypad unit. Easy to install once manual is understood (take plenty of time to design the system the way you want it). System has been great, batteries have lasted longer for all items except my hall motion detector. One grip is most of the batteries are expensive, but shopping on line you can find many much cheaper. Alarm Relay provides excellent service, but don't let the $8.95/mo fool you. After a year it will be $10.45/mo which is still very cheap. They call for low batteries, tampers, everything the system reports. I like this as I then know it is working fine. A high use key fob will last about 2 years and then need to be replace. I run a wireless computer network in my home with 3 computers, a TV, 2 DVD's all connected to it and no problems with interference. Burglaries are increasing in the area so I am now looking into a GSM cell phone unit as backup to my landline. I highly recommend the system.
