A full-featured wireless home security system that combines the most popular security features in one convenient and affordable package! This system offers all the bells and whistles you need to effectively protect your home from burglars. Plus, because it uses advanced wireless transmission technology, the Powermax system can be installed with minimum effort, without strewing cables throughout your home!

PowerMax® is designed to integrate all the systems in today's smart home or smart office into a single easily managed solution. Sophisticated proprietary technology makes PowerMax® the management solution of choice for a wide variety of environments - including areas where the elderly, children and pets are normally present.

PowerMax® users can control their entire home or office environment - security, air-conditioning, appliances, lighting - through an easy-to-use keypad or any remote touch-tone or cellular phone. The commands are intuitively learned and easily recalled, thanks to a unique graphic user interface with audible prompts in a choice of 22 languages.

This wireless security, control and home automation system protects as many as 30 zones, with virtually any combination of Visonic equipment. It supports an exceptionally wide range of detection devices, including wireless passive infrared (PIR) and pet-immune motion detectors, glass-break, gas, smoke and flood detectors, and door/window magnetic contacts.

In case an event is detected, PowerMax® automatically issues a report to the monitoring station, simultaneously transmitting digital and voice alerts to pre-programmed private telephones and/or pagers. Two-way voice communication can be initiated, enabling remote homeowners to assist any child or elderly resident.

All this functionality is packed into a single wireless solution, which is as easy to deploy as it is to operate. A PowerMax® wireless system is installed in just a few hours, requiring no cumbersome installation.

Unique high performance features, simple installation within less than one hour and ultimate intuitive ease-of-use make PowerMax® the industry's outstanding home management solution.

PowerMax® Features

  • 30 individually-named zones: Each protected zone is identified not only by number but also by name (ask your installer to assign appropriate names to your zones).
  • Multiple arming modes: AWAY, HOME, AWAYINSTANT, HOME-INSTANT and LATCHKEY.
  • Liquid crystal display (LCD): Plain-language status information and prompts are displayed on the front panel in large, clear letters.
  • Real-time clock: The present time is visible on the right side of the display.
  • Various reporting destinations: Events are reported automatically to central monitoring stations, private telephones of your choice and even to a pager.
  • Selective reporting: Your installer can determine what type of event will be reported to which destination.
  • Latchkey mode: An automatic “Latchkey” message is sent to chosen telephones if the system is disarmed by a “latchkey” user (a junior family member, for instance).
  • Spoken announcements and instructions: Statusdependent, pre-recorded verbal messages are heard over the built-in loudspeaker.
  • Message exchange: Before leaving the premises, you may record a short verbal message for other users of the system who may arrive later. Upon arrival, you can listen to verbal messages left by others for you.
  • Keypad and wireless control: Full control from the keypad; major functions can be carried out by pressing buttons on hand-held miniature transmitters.
  • Access from remote telephones: You may access the PowerMax from a remote telephone and Arm/Disarm it or receive system status information.
  • Numerical keys serve as function keys: In the disarmed state, numerical keys are used to control various system functions. A simple icon on each key identifies the task of that key.
  • Electrical device control: Lights and electrical appliances can be controlled if optional X-10 modules are used. The electrical cabling network of the building carries the control signals. Your installer will determine the control means in accordance with your needs.
  • PGM remote control: Gate control mechanisms, courtesy lights and various other devices can be switched on and off via a special PGM (programmable) output. Your installer will determine the control means, in accordance with your needs.
  • Data Retrieval: You can get status information, trouble information and review memorized alarm events - visually and verbally.
  • Looking after elderly, physically handicapped and inform individuals: The system can be programmed to monitor activity within the protected area and send out an alert message if the person under surveillance remains still for too long.
  • Distress calls: Miniature pushbutton transmitters dealt out to specific individuals may be used for sending emergency calls for help.
  • Disarming under duress: If a user is forcibly compelled to disarm the system, he can use a special code that disarms the system apparently as usual, but sends a silent alarm to the central station.
  • System supervision: All wireless detectors within the protected site send periodic supervision messages. If such a message is overdue, the PowerMax displays an ‘inactivity’ trouble message. Your installer can disable this feature if so desired.
  • Battery supervision: You do not have to worry about ‘dead’ batteries. The PowerMax displays a ‘Low Battery’ message whenever a battery in a wireless device is found to be near the end of its useful life.

I have had this system for about 4 years. This is a great system. It works great and is easy to operate and fairly easy to install. I called tech support with a couple of questions about the system and they were very helpful. They know the system inside and out. I love the fact that you don't have to run wires to each sensor and the system has a great range and picks up the sensors flawlessly at long distances. The price is great. I would highly recommend this system to anyone.

This is an amazing system for the price, it had everything I wanted in a security system. You can program multiple numbers for it to call, and can specify what events you want to know about (just alarms, alarms + tamper events, all events including arm/disarm, etc). You can also call into it and check its status, arm/disarm it, listen in on the house, or even establish two-way communication with someone in the house, via the control panel unit. It will even allow you to remotely monitor for expected activity in the house, for example an elderly person that you want to make sure is getting up and about periodically. Agreed with all the other reviewers that it is best to get everything out and program it all in before you ever mount any of it. Yes, you'll get tamper alarms while programming and again when you go to mount the sensors, but they'll clear as you install them. The installation and user guides are a bit complicated, but at the same time a lot of that complication is simply due to the dazzling array of features available with this system. There isn't anything I wanted a security system to do that it won't do - and there are quite a few things that it will do that I probably will never use myself, but that others may find very useful. The only issue I had was when enrolling the wireless siren - it wouldn't enroll in normal mode (pressing the self-test until it went off as instructed). I was however able to enroll it by changing the enroll mode from 'normal' to 'tamper' (enroll by transmitted tamper alert).

Great system, and I installed it myself with only two short phone calls to tech support. By the way they are great, very sharp guys that know the system. Please do yourself a favor. Read the instructions over and understand them before starting. Then be sure to put everything on a bench and set up all the device's with batteries etc. I used rubber bands to hold the window & door alarms together while enrolling. I set up 8 window alarms, 2 glass break alarms, I motion det. 1 outside wireless remote siren, and one X10 interior siron. I took me 4 hours of reading over 2 days to read the manul then about 2 hours to set it up on bench and enroll each unit. then about 3 hours to install all of the above, then maybe 3 hours to set it up as I wanted it all set and figure out what was wrong that I did. I found the interior X10 siren unit the most confusing but one call to tech support fixed it. The manual actually is great and totally compete and helpful, But did does not give overall insite into how to set up things etc. It could lead us by the hand a lot more but it just thows us in and we sink or swim, But for sure if you read it, you will finally figure it all out. I would buy and recogment this system to anyone that can read and understand what they read. If will not read instructions this unit is not for you. You must read the instrutions all the way through before even thinking about starting the job. Rick

Setup was a cinch. The instructions were intimidating at first but as I worked my way along with the installation things really started getting easy. Have yet to call tech help, probably never will. I would recommend this to anyone who can follow along with written instructions. Have had the system up and running for almost a month and no false alarms, even with our large cat.

I was on line just looking for information about an alarm system, and decided to purchase the visonic powermax. The first satisfaction was when i called to check on delivery, they told me no more than 5 business days. The 5th day it was here. The second satisfaction was installation, they tell you that it is not hard to install, they must know there product because after reading the instructions the alarm was operating the same night. The best about this product is the technical support, purchasing dept and operator for the company. EVERY BODY WAS VERY HELPFUL! THANK YOU

I purchased this alarm due to increased breakin's in my neighborhood. I have 18 door and window sensors, 3 motion detectors, smoke detector and glass breakage detectors. The alarm works great for the money. Make sure before installing this system to lay it all out on the floor or table and have your zones planned out in advance. I took my floor plan from when I bought my house and numbered all the areas that would be covered, made a list and numbered the zones and wether they would be perimeter or enterior which made set up sooo much easier than the directions had instructed. Install all the batteries in the sensors then power up the system and trigger each sensor so the unit can learn the signals. Then power down the unit and install all of the sensors. It takes awhile but it is well worth it in the end. The battery in the unit will display low cpu battery untill it is fully charged. Also the tech support was very helpful. So far not one false alarm even from our cat. Very pleased with the entire system...

I installed my Powermax in only about an hour. It took longer to mount the door and motion sensors than it did to program the system. I recently added the smoke alarm and wireless keypad and haven't had one problem with the system. The only problem I used to have is remembering to deactivate the system when I came into the house. I've not had to worry about it before and new habits are often hard to learn - when I would forget and the system would go into alarm after sensing us in the house, we had to learn fast. It sure will make your heart stop when the thing goes off on you and you don't expect it!

I bought this for my own home. This was the first time I worked with a security system so I printed out the instructions right afer I ordered it so I could become familar with the product before it arrived. It took me about and hour to set it up as well as placing all the detectors around the home and putting all my personal settings in it. I highly recommend this product for its easy of use and all the features it comes with.

I installed the system about 3 years ago, not that hard if you follow instruction. There is no other system that offers the features at this price without the need for contract. I am moving soon and was thinking of upgrading to the +, but think i will go with same. Its also easy to add sensers and key fobs.

I've had the PowerMax wireless system and the monitoring over 3 years--I love both and recommend them to all my friends and family!! I purchased the system and the monitoring while I lived in an apartment complex--after clearing it with management. I installed using the manuals--not a problem, even for a single gal. I moved this system when I purchased a house and added sensors without a problem. I've replaced 3 batteries--they can be found anywhere large displays of batteries are sold. The only false alarms were caused by my forgetting to turn it off before walking onto the patio and by the apartment management staff entering without notice. If you don't turn it off quick enough, alarm company calls immediately, they've even made courtesy calls to let me know the system was relaying power-failure alerts when the power to the neighborhood was turned off for repair.

I got the system and had it working in a couple of hours, got the monitoring company service that just about covers the fee with the discount on my home insurance. I feel so much better when I am away from home, and I know my pets are secure in case of fire. I highly recommend this system.

I have had the powermax for 4 years and I just love it. Being a first time user the programming and user guide was hard to understand and it took me few days of trial & error to figure it out, but after I did the system has worked better then expected. A+

I have had this system in my vacation property for 5 yrs and it works great. I would highly recommend this system to anyone. It is a easy install and programming is a wiz. In 5 years I have had 0 false alarms. If it goes off it is because one of the zones has a fault. The listen in feature is a bonus
