Yahoo John on 6/29/2008, said: The sysytem works as advertised. However, the alarm, Beep, which is not loud enough to hear over normal room conversation. It was necessary to purchase a 15db, 12volt DC system from Radio Shack to make the system acceptable for the intended use thereof. I personal think that this system is well worth the cost, after the additional purchase of the 15db siren sounding alarm. I intend on purchasing two more tranmitters to go with the system I now have in use. The additional add-on loud alarm is loud enough to alert the household of activity within the covered transmitter area during all hours. It works about 80 % of the time so... it's not too bad.. for price. We purchased a reporter about 2 years ago and LOVE it. Alerts us to vehicles, walkers, and neighbor dogs. One sensor quit, but it's easy to replace it. Well worth the price.
