I don't know if I simply had a defective unit or whether this is a problem feature. In all other respects, it's a great product. I was afraid I would have to get my ladder out frequently to change the batteries, but this is NOT the case. The red light is still ominously blinking, 9+months after I installed the cameras. It looks very good and was easy to install...watiing to see how long the two C batteries last....will let you know. ---SUGGESTION to Home Security Store: double the battery life by having this camera hold 4 C batteries, with a device that switches over to the second set of C's when the first set dies.
