MKP-150 Visonic Powermax Wireless Keypad

The MKP-150 is an indoor, multi-button wireless two-way keypad device for operation with the Powermax+ system. The device operates using a two-way encrypted coded transmission and provides aural and visual indications. For each Powermax+ control panel, a maximum of two MKP-150 keypad devices may be enrolled.

The MKP-150 may be operated either by AC power supply (optional) or by Battery power. If AC power is used, the device operates continuously and the set status is constantly updated. If powered by batteries, they keypad immediately becomes 15 sec after last key press. The Key pad immediatly becomes operational again upon pressing of any key

Communication to main unit is very unreliable, my unit is <20ft from the MKP-150 and is still intermittent. Have tried 2 MKP-150's, no other sensors have a communication problem. This unit is a must have or the main unit will have to be placed in a vulnerable location. Very disappointed it does not work properly for this price. I'm not alone, read other reviews and check Youtube regarding the communication problems with this unit.

I had a comm problem with my first keypad, which was 30 feet from the console. I returned it for another. The second unit has never failed. I have a Visonic MCM-140 keypad from a previous alarm sysem, which had never failed. I keep this one close to the MKP-150 should there be a comm problem.

Very useful, but communication failure error message is an ongoing problem. Unit is about 15 feet from main unit. I have a remote keypad (MCM-140)in the garage that is about 25 feet away and through two floors and never a problem. No answer to the COMM FAILURE problem for the MKP-150.

Well so far so good...My main panel is on the 2nd floor and this lil guy is in my master bedroom on the 3rd floor approx 30 feet away with stairs and walls between...no issues yet... I'll update if there is any kind of com failure. Only complaint and what doesnt make this GREAT is the backlight doesnt come on when you press any key...you have to hold a key for 2 secs. For $130, when I open the door to expose the numbers, I'd expect the backlight to automatically turn on.

Nice looking unit that is a must have accessory. Allows you to mount this keypad inside front door to activate adn deactivate the alarm system. Worked perfectly in the beginning..... then had issues with keypad communication with the console. May be due to some sort of issue with interference. Started working again... but now of course it is back to having kepad communication failure issues again. 3 stars at best.

This device is very useful to install at entry/exit. I would definitely recommend to friends and family. Also, when you install this device, please make sure to plug your AC source in so that you can utilize the full features.

if you buy the powermax the mkp-150 is an absolute must. they are a bit steep in price, but without them you couldnt hide your main console. not to mention they dont take up alot of room which is an added bonus. this means you can put them anywhere...which my wife loves. the max you can add to the powermax plus is 2...and if you have a house...get 2 you wont be sorry.

I've had this unit for 9 months. It has intermittent problems where it looses connectivity to the main unit. This creates a real problem when you walk into your home and are asked to disarm. You try to input your code but the unit looses connectivity to the base unit. Then you go scrambling through your house to the base unit itself before the alarm goes off. Most times it works great. Sometimes, not so great.
