LRP-5030S - REDWALL Long Range PIR

The Redwide 5030 is a rugged external long range wide angle passive infrared detector. It is designed to provide reliable intruder detection at distances of up to 50 metres (160 feet) over a 30 degree span.

Operation
Detection is achieved by monitoring changes of far infrared levels in the sensor's field of view. The Redwide is a single ended device and therefore does not require a transmitter or receiver at the far end of the area to be protected. It is totally passive and does not emit any transmission to achieve detection. The detector's tri-channel processors use three dual-element sensors and digital logic processing. This ensures reliable multi-zone protection over a wide ambient temperature range.

Optics
This all new detector is the culmination of many years of sensor design experience and features a truly unique optical system (patents pending) which combines long focal length reflecting and short focal length refracting systems. The computer-designed reflecting surfaces are coated in pure gold to maximise their performance. The 30 degree detection pattern matches the optical coverage of standard CCTV camera lenses (12mm on 1/2" format and 8mm on 1/3" format).

Installation
The Redwide 5030 is simple to install and maintain. The integral mounting bracket allows the sensing head to be used from a wall mount or pillar mounted position. Setting up and walk-testing is made easy with an LRP 1020 Audio Walktester. This uses a sweeping sound method to show exactly the position of the detection areas. The Redwide comes complete with comprehensive installation instructions, allen keys to lock the sensing head in position and expandable bolts for mounting.

RFI/EMI
The Redwide's sensing electronics are housed within a fully screened metal enclosure which, being located in the sensor's cast aluminium head, are thereby doubly protected against radio interference. Comprehensive decoupling of the electronics also adds to the sensor's ability to reject sources of electro-magnetic and electro-static interference.

Applications
The Redwide 5030 is ideal for use in the following applications:

Wide Area Protection The unique multizone optics and tri-channel processing produces the largest area coverage of any P.I.R detector in volume production making it ideal for stock yards, car parks, large industrial warehouses etc.

CCTV Motion Sensing The Redwide 5030 can be used to activate a CCTV system. It can alert a system operator's attention to a protected area, automatically start a video recorder or activate a telephone line transmission system.

Energy Management The detector's extraordinary large area capability can be used in energy management systems to operate lighting only when movement is detected.
