Our Most Cost-Efficient, Expandable Wireless Security System! This kit combines the incredible performance and reliability of hardwired systems with expandable wireless technology, giving you the best of both worlds. Although the primary panel connects like a hardwired system (supporting six hardwired zones), expanding the number of zones is simply a matter of adding additional wireless sensors and other expansion options.

This ready-to-install kit virtually eliminates guesswork when selecting accessories. You have the option of expanding with additional wireless accessories. Best of all, this inclusive kit costs less than half of what it would cost to buy the system component by component. Total of 16 zones. 6 Hardwired and 10 Wireless or 16 wireless.

Achieving a balance between reliable security and refined functionality, next-generation POWERSERIES products are sure to electrify the industry by providing unprecedented levels of convenience, comfort and control. Among the new products comprising the updated POWERSERIES product platform are three new control panels. Each control panel shares a universal hardware/software design that ensures an equal and rich feature set and easy future expandability. With near limitless capabilities, the control panels seamlessly integrate with our award-winning Internet and network alarm communicators (T-Link), industry-leading visual alarm verification module (VVM110), SKYROUTE wireless alarm communicator and other specialty modules, wireless devices and structured cabling solutions. If you’re already familiar with POWERSERIES, the new platform will be an easy transition for you. Despite the addition of a number of value-added features, traditional programming remains unchanged, as does the installation process.

Once you get it up and running it's great. I installed this unit on the weekend when tech support was closed and spent hours trying to figure out how to understand the instructions and enroll my wireless devices. I did manage to get one enrolled...Don't ask me how it was a process of trial and error. After customer support helped me enroll one device from start to end I understood the process and have since enrolled and defined all my devices and really enjoy the comfort of knowing that I have a great alarm securing my family. The instructions are horrible but once you get by that and get the alarm installed you are going to love it!

Excellent system. Instructions for programming are horrible, but fear not, there is free help and they had me programmed and up and running in no time. We put this in our investment house, and WILL buy the system again for the next house from this website. Awesome great help.

This is my second DSC to install. The first was a Power 832 all wired. Installed this 1616 system for my Mother. The 832 was rather easy but it takes a lot of reading to finally get the knack of how to program. The 1616 is more difficult because there are extra steps you have to take for wireless components. The DSC manuals are like the Bible. Everything you need to know is there, but it's not all written in a step by step process. You have to dig all through the manual to learn what to do. If this is your first system, and you are not technically inclined, then you will have problems getting this system programmed. You'll either pull out your hair, stay determined and study, study, study, or stay on the phone with a techy. I highly recommend this system.

Took a couple of minutes and a post or two on the support forums to understand the wireless and zone logic but after that it was a piece of cake install. The system covered everything I wanted to do in my house and provided a number of useful features I did not expect. Tips: Make sure you put the keypad with the wireless transceiver in a centralized location. Follow the multiple recommendations on the board and do a bench test first, before you start drilling holes in your house. Makes it all much easier.

This system is replacing an old circa 1985 system. Simply amazing how far these panels have come. I expected to have to decrypt codes and muddle my way through, but after a couple of reads through the manual it's quite easy to configure with just a few items to take care of out of the box. Nice design, keypad is large and easy to read. Would recommend this system to anyone wanting to get a wired/wireless system in the future.

Great system once you get it up and running. If you need to contact Tech Support though, suggest you get all your questions down and ask them in one shot. The hold times for tech support often run over 30 minutes.

The manual is pretty technical and requires reading a few times. There is a lot that can be programmed that is not needed for a basic install. But if you're patient, and work through it slowly, it's a good system for the money. My Install Tips: if it's all wireless, install the supplied resistors across each zone screw (Z1 etc.) to each common screw (com); don't connect any power or battery to the panel until everything is set up; program carefully -- the 5501 keypad gives very little feed back while entering the codes. It's always, *8 (enter programming mode), 5555 (installer code), then the code for the programming option you want. I might go with the 5500 keypad if I did it again b/c it provides english language feedback during programming. Good system though for the money.

Thanks to the help forum, I finally have my whole system up and running. It was a rocky road at first. Actually, installing all of the hardware was the easy part. I have six wireless zones and two hardwired zones along with the keypad and key fob. Programming with the included documentation was a royal nightmare. The forum here is outstanding and was vital in helping me learn how to program my system (with wireless key fob and all). My system has been in place almost two months now and I have no complaints, other than the manuals' confusing programming directions. That said, I think the system is great overall, regardless of the confusing manuals. In my opinion, installing this system should be reserved for the intermediate DIYer (handyman types) and professionals. Thanks-a-million to the Home Security Stores Technical support forums.

This DSC kit is Top-shelf. It is Pro-quality, that also means that it meant to be installed by a seasoned pro. The good news is that the Home Security Store has a lot of reference material to download. If you still have problems { I know I did} The tech support staff will get you going in minutes{Thanks Matt} Once you get a feel for the programming of these systems it all comes together. Then you feel like you solved a great puzzle. Rubik's Cube? VCR clock? Seriously, the DSC gear is great and if you buy it make sure you have lifeline like the Home Security Store and thier tech crew. Cheers, R

Installation is pretty simple. Just make sure you read the entire manual before you get started. I had all of my zones set up but couldnt get the alarm to arm. I called Home Security Store's tech support and 10 minutes later my alaram was fully programmed correctly and my alarm works great. I am currently not using any hardwired sensors so I had to have tech support walk me through turning off the wired zones, which I couldnt find any information about in the manual. Dont ask me what we did though because those techs are so fast and know what they are doing for sure. I highly recommend this product and homesecuritystore! Thanks!

Got everything on time and after looking at all the documation for the installation I thought I was going to get sick. I'm just a do it yourself guy, installed the hardware without any problems, then I started to read the manuals for the programming and after two days of intense reading was frustrated and ready to quit. I made a call to tech support and asked Steve to guide me through the programming. What a guy, very smart and knowledgeable with this system. He walked me through every step and it was up and running in twenty minutes. I would recommend Home Security Store to everyone. Thanks Steve! Walt
