Our Most Cost-Efficient, Expandable Wireless Security System! This kit combines the incredible performance and reliability of hardwired systems with expandable wireless technology, giving you the best of both worlds. Although the primary panel connects like a hardwired system (supporting six hardwired zones), expanding the number of zones is simply a matter of adding additional wireless sensors and other expansion options.

This ready-to-install kit virtually eliminates guesswork when selecting accessories. You have the option of expanding with additional wireless accessories. Best of all, this inclusive kit costs less than half of what it would cost to buy the system component by component. Total of 16 zones. 6 Hardwired and 10 Wireless or 16 wireless.

Achieving a balance between reliable security and refined functionality, next-generation POWERSERIES products are sure to electrify the industry by providing unprecedented levels of convenience, comfort and control. Among the new products comprising the updated POWERSERIES product platform are three new control panels. Each control panel shares a universal hardware/software design that ensures an equal and rich feature set and easy future expandability. With near limitless capabilities, the control panels seamlessly integrate with our award-winning Internet and network alarm communicators (T-Link), industry-leading visual alarm verification module (VVM110), SKYROUTE wireless alarm communicator and other specialty modules, wireless devices and structured cabling solutions. If you're already familiar with POWERSERIES, the new platform will be an easy transition for you. Despite the addition of a number of value-added features, traditional programming remains unchanged, as does the installation process.

This is an awesome wireless starter kit for the money. You get 1 motion, 3 window/door sensors, 1 remote keyfob and the RFK5501 Keypad. I chose this kit because I only planned on only having 2 partitions and one hardwired zone (siren tamper), the rest of my system is all wireless which means I could have up to 32 wireless zones (the description says 16 but I received the newer revision 4.2 panel). I will warn you that you WILL need to hardwire any keypads (wireless or not) and siren(s) so the system is NOT completely wireless. The programming aspect of the system is hit or miss, but all really good alarm systems all have this problem for the DIY'er. I think the point to remember is that while your buying a DIY alarm system, the installation manuals are really geared to professional alarm installers. Not everything is explained in detail or definition and some things you need to simply figure out with common sense. Add that fact that programming with the keypad is tedious with a unique series of button presses and that obviously makes this system difficult to get set up. I strongly urge anyone looking to add a second keypad to opt for the RFK5500 since it really helps you follow along with programming as well as all the added benefits of a alpha-numeric message display keypad. Tech support was great helping me along where I got stuck and fix any errors I made along the way. As an added suggestion, I would run the system for a week or two prior to getting any UL monitoring so you can make sure your system is working correctly without any false alarms and to adjust it to better suit your needs. If there was one thing I would change on this kit, it would be the siren. I don't think mine works as it should nor is it loud enough. I bought the 748 Ademco 119db Siren, wired it about 25 feet using just alarm wire and this thing can peel the paint off my walls.

The system manual is horrible. If it wasn’t for the tech line and forum, all this thing would be doing is taking up space on my wall. They are combining too many different systems into one manual, way to save costs I guess. The manual ASSUMES that you already have experience installing a security system. I would not recommend this to anyone who hasn’t previously installed a system. Look at another system if you are a beginner. OK, but now that the system is installed and programmed, it is working properly.

Amazed at what you get with this kit for the price! I've drilled deep into the manual on this system and really can't find anything it lacks for any home owner. The expansion options and customization capabilities are virtually endless. For the first timer, the programming instructions are daunting. There is a lot of "Assumed" logic in them that you understand security system phraseology . . something it takes awhile to wrap your head around. There are some gaps in procedural clarity as well that are understood only after a phone call, email, or trial and error. Also, a lot of bouncing back and forth between manuals because of the number of options available with the system. If I had one gripe, (and it's not worth subtracting a star)it's the micro-film sized instructions with the keypad and contact devices. Do yourself a favor and download the manuals and size them up for readability!

This system is awesome! It was fun to install. I did not understand the programming even using the manual, but tech support walked me through the programming over the phone! I ain't too good with computer stuff. Works great though, looks good, and is simple. Once installed and programmed it is great. Can even set the alarm to 'activate instantly' while your in the house or asleep. That function activate's the window and door sensor's, but deactivates the motion sensor's etc. Good expansion options also.

Took a couple of minutes and a post or two on the support forums to understand the wireless and zone logic but after that it was a piece of cake install. The system covered everything I wanted to do in my house and provided a number of useful features I did not expect. Tips: Make sure you put the keypad with the wireless transceiver in a centralized location. Follow the multiple recommendations on the board and do a bench test first, before you start drilling holes in your house. Makes it all much easier.
