CP-01 Compliant
All POWERSERIES control panels are compliant with the Security Industry Association (SIA) CP-01 standard. As more and more cities begin to incorporate this standard into their alarm ordinances for new installations, the occurrence of invalid alarm activations will be significantly reduced or eliminated.

Compatibility
POWERSERIES control panels are fully compatible, and backward compatible, with all available keypads and modules across the platform.

The price point for the kit is really quite reasonable, and it has some of the most basic options you would want. Add a few hardwire and wireless sensors and you are good to go. Read all the documentation that comes along with the system and you will really be ready to tackle programming. 90% of the programming by default is quite sufficient. Now, originally I thought 6 hardwire zones would be enough, but as it turns out I would have loved to have just 2 more zones. There are also some features in the 1832 based kits that you will lack in the 1616 based kit, but it is not major loss. Take a look at both before you purchase your system. The great thing about the DSC panels is that if you find yourself looking for more hardwire zones, the zone expander is really quite cost effective and easy to add on. I've written programming code and have worked with robotic machinery for most of my life and I couldn't figure out how to program it. I've had it for over a month and I still haven't gotten around to making another call to get this system working. Home Security has been helpful but if you want to be able to set up and modify this system on your own, good luck.
