Well, I have installed this in my home (got it as part of the Visonic Powermax system) and it works great! I installed it at about 7 ft. on a wall and it always detects my movements but never my dog (20 lb cocker). I could use another couple of these but at $70/apiece there's NO WAY! I still have 4 980's from my old system and will try to make use of those. BTW, I had a VISONIC system (earlier version of the Powermax) in Illinois and left it behind in that home when I sold it. This system works flawlessley. Never had a false alarm.....

It's pet AND people immune! You could dance in front of this thing (I have) and it wouldn't see you (It didn't). It came with my Kit so I installed it in the garage but it was always flaky and hard to trip. Maybe it was just bad out of the box. In any event I accidentally walked through its area a couple of days ago (It was ON) and it did nothing. When I opened the back door (Magnetic switch) - all hell broke loose - (Don't tell me you've never accidentally tripped your alarm system):) The point being, that it didn't see me in the garage. I'm replacing it with the Visonic TOWER40MCW and hopefully that will solve the problem.

Doesn't work, my 28 lb little dog sets it off. Too bad, I had high hopes for this.

I've had these installed for a couple of years now. Can't speak for the pet immunity but otherwise these work very well. Getting ready to buy a new house. These will be installed with the Visonic system.

I have several of these installed throughout the home and my 65 lb dog sets them off literally all the time. Advertised as pet-immune to 85 lbs, but in my experience, absolutely NOT pet immune. I read somewhere that the Optex dual tech (PIR and microwave) are awesome if you have pets.

Easy installation, I had to use 3m double-sided sticky tape to mount these because my shutters were in the way of where the screws go, do not use the cheap double-sided tape if you go this route. I have two dogs, about 30 & 40 pounds and they haven't set these off by accident. You will see the red LED light up when you get the room where the motion detector is mounted so you know the thing is working. The range seems pretty good on these, I have a pretty good sized living room & kitchen and one of these units covers both rooms.

Just works. Mine is mounted over the front door which covers three intrusion paths: entry from dining room, entry from the living room, and entry down the upstairs staircase. I have never had a false alarm and it always goes off during testing which includes swinging the front door under it, walking down the stairs from the second floor, and walking into the area from the living room or dining room. I do not have pets so I cannot comment on its pet exclusion performance.

I am about to purchase another K9-85. I have been using one for two+ years now and it does a fantastic job. The comment about the sensor going to sleep is correct. Do not present any movement to the sensor and then after a short pause, do so and it will light up. After my experience with this sensor, I am puzzled by the negative comments.

what everyone needs to understand is that the sensor goes into sleep mode if it keeps detecting movement. if you think it isn't working just go out of the area for 2 minutes. now re-enter and see if it works. i thought the same thing also until i read about it. you have to wait for at least 2 minutes though.

Got one of these gems in my package and I bought another at the same time. Unfortunately I think one is blind and the other can't see! LOL. I suggest that you buy a different type of PIR sensor over these. Deffinately not worth the money or stress.

I've had 2 of these sensors operating in my home for 4 years now. I've never had a false alarm and the sensors reliably detect movement. I just recently replaced the first set of batteries, so they lasted almost 4 years.

Horrible motion sensor. I received this in the overall package for this security system and it hasn't worked at all. I wish I could get a replacement, but I've had it over a year now.

Product worked for about 3 minutes out of the box. After continued reset, it continued to stop working repeatidly. If it had not come as part of the wireless kit, I would not have purchased this detector.

Purchased this as it's advertised to be immune to dogs that are under 85 pounds in weight. Well, my dog is 52 pounds and trips the sensor every time. It's only after purchasing it that you will read in the supplied manual that if the dog gets close to the area where the PIR is installed the max weight limit drops substantially. So $70 down the drain as I cannot protect the required area due to the dog moseying around in it. I really wish the limitations were advertised up front, as I would not then have purchased it.
