The new MURS Alert Long Rang System offers the ability to monitor activity at remote locations. The MURS Alert(TM) transmitter is capable of sending 4 different alert messages to the transceiver. The alert signals will be in spoken English and are easily selected at the transmitter so that separate zones can be monitored at the same time. MURS Alert(TM) will give you real time monitoring of remote locations up to two miles away.

The HT-KIT includes the M538-HT Hand-held Transceiver and the MURS Alert Transmitter.

Receiver
The M538-HT will operate as a transceiver, meaning it will both transmit and recive messages from other MURS radio units. The M538-HT is equipped to operate on 5 channels, with 38 sub channels. in order to communicate with another MURS radio, the channel and the sub channel must be set alike. The M538-HT also has 4 separate call tones that can be used to page other users before starting a conversation. The M538-HT can also receive an alert signal from the MURS ALERT transmitter. This will notify you of any activity at the location of the MURS Alert Transmitter.

Transmitter
The MURS Alert transmitter is a passive infrared (PIR) detector that can be used to detect people, vehicles or large animals at selected locations. The PIR sensor will detect movement of objects up to 80 feet in front of the transmitter box. When a person, vehicle or large animal is detected, the MURS Alert will transmit a signal. When an target is detected by the MURS Alert, an alert signal will be sent to the M538-HT

This unit serves my purpose very well, which is to signal when my driveway gate opens by a delivery person or my gardener. The only disadvantage is that the battery runs down if the unit is not plugged in for a couple of days. Leaving the battery charger on all the time runs down the battery. If continuous alert is needed, it is best to purchase the plug in one, which is maybe a new product. I think I will buy a couple of those base stations so that I don't have to worry about leaving it plugged in all the time. James

We own a farm .4 mile away from our current residence and we get the alarm signal loud and clear. We plan on putting a shim under the sensor to try and tip it up a bit so that the alarm will not be triggered by the farm cat or a coyote. We also are purchasing a second sensor to install.

We have had this unit for about a year now which monitors entry to our 1.5 acre pond which is about a 1/4 mile from the house through heavy trees and banks and it has worked flawlessly. Also just changed batteries in the transmitter for the first time with temperature ranges from 20F to 106F. Unit easy to set up and works as described - would purchase again.

Love this system. Have the handheld and also the base. I installed mine on my metal building pointed at the entrance of the parking lot and the other inside. We have 6+ acres and are alerted whaen a customer pulls in the lot. For those that have a power outlet near and don't want to use up batteries, after talking with Dakota they informed me that I would need a 9v regulated transformer with 500 t0 600mA to power the transmitter. Radio Shack has them for like $30 made by Enercell part # 273-356 it is regulated and filtered. I have been using it for months now and works flawlessly. No more batteries. A thanks goes out to Home Security Store for the great service and shipping.

I have had this unit for a couple weeks and it has worked perfectly. I use it to monitor the entrance to my driveway which is about 750' long and winds through a heavily wooded 16 acre lot. No trouble at all.

Just received the HT-KIT and absolutely love it. I had purchased a Chamberlain Driveway Alert and it just DID NOT work! This unit was preset and all I had to do was install and charge the batteries and mount the transmitter to a tree. Than I covered it with the birdhouse(great idea) and the install was finished. Now I just ordered another receiver so that my wife and I can both hear(and communicate with each other) when someone comes in the driveway both at home and when we are working around the farm. Great unit and price.

I have Murs System with both the Transmitter and handheld transceiver. It works perfectly on my ranch. The radio works even at the end of my property. About 50 Acres of flat land. I would recommend this product for large applications.
