Installation of the 40220 Floodlight is an easy Do-It-Yourself project. That’s because it is very simple to install - there are no wires, no electricity needed, and no operational costs. The basic set-up is to mount the solar panel in a sunny location, mount the floodlight above the desired area you would like to light, hook the two devices together with the included cable, and the sun’s rays do the rest!
The time duration for when the floodlight is on (once activated by motion) can be set from 10 seconds to 1 minute. When charged with full sunlight, the solar floodlight can work up to 150 times when on for 60 seconds at a time. (That is the equivalent to 2.5 hours.) In addition, the unit features time, motion sensitivity, and LUX adjustments.
The floodlight kit includes an adjustable swivel head (which allows the lamp to rotate 360-degrees and angle up/down or right/left) and a sensor, a 15 foot cable, and a 10 watt halogen bulb which is longer lasting and more efficient than your standard incandescent light bulb. The housing of the panel and floodlight is weatherproof and runs on a 6 volt 4 amp acid rechargeable battery (included). The battery should last for about 3 years before it will need replacement.
