So, if your dealing with a deteached garage or shed monitoring scenario, your looking at more like 100 feet or so. Maybe less. Perhaps a sensitivity control (beyond the short or long distance) would be helpful. This is installed in my garage. My in-house monitors are expensive units which are set to only trigger an alarm if a moving object is over 40 pounds.
