The base unit has to be closer than the advertised 300' usually to operate correctly. It also has trouble sync-ing up with the sensors (might be range related). I have mine set up about 100' away from the sensors. When I move it closer, it seems to sync up more readily. The problem we are having is where to put the receiver and whether to turn the audible off. Tried the bedroom but the buzzer woke us up in the middle of the night because kids were going in and out. Leaving the buzzer off has its own disadvantages too. One nice thing is that the receiver works(I am pretty sure) with other types of sensors made by Skylink.
