Are you looking for a way to keep your family and home safe, but you have to do it on a budget? The Fake TV may be the answer. This is a cool, smart security gadget that works as a burglar deterrent and saves you money too.

The Fake TV makes it seem as if someone is home and up watching television when in reality you might be sleeping, not at home at all, or on vacation.

The Fake TV uses an array of colored, flashing LEDs to create the illusion of the effect of a real TV. It uses a built in computer to control super bright LEDs to produce light of varying intensity and color that light up a room. It comes off as real TV scene changes, fades, flicks, and camera pans. The color changes are both subtle and dramatic and are completely unpredictable.

The Fake TV uses only a fraction of the electricity of a real TV, consuming about the same amount of power as a night light. Plus, if you use the Fake TV this would allow less wear and tear on your new flat screen TV!

To see what the Fake TV looks like flickering in the dark please go to the AUDIOGUARD Burglar Deterrent web page and click on the video review.

It works so well I dont want people to know about it! It looks so real I dont want the burglar asking himself "is that a fake tv?" No one tell anyone about this product and keep this great product all to yourself!!!! Kidding of course. I walked outside when I plugged this in and it looked like a TV was on. There was one occasion when I pulled up from being out of town and I thought "who left the TV on???" and "who is in my house" but I forgot I just got this.

...and works like a charm. This thingy does an amazingly accurate reproduction of the light changes that occur while a television set is displaying a program. Placed in a darkened upstairs bedroom with it's window next to another bedroom that we have a TV set in I turned on both and watched from outside at night. If I had not known I do not believe that I could have known which was real and which was ...not real. Worth every penny of it's small cost.

It does exactly what it says and is dead-simple to operate. Uses very little power. My FakeTV is in our guest bedroom, which is visible from the street. The simulations are very convincing. I will be purchasing additional units as gifts for the holidays, and will have an extra on hand for neighbors to borrow when they go out of town. I'm a believer, and you will be too.

Love this device and all the other products I have purchased from homesecuritystore, but recently when could'nt place an order online. I was told they were probably working on something. I work with computers and its how I pay my mortgage and being in the service indusrtry I feel this is poor way to manage cusomer service.

LOVE IT!!!! Simple to install...just plug it in. I am one happy cusotmer. We got one of these right before we went on a long vacation. We used this in addition to our old stand-bys of having lights on timers and asking the nosey neighbor to keeps her eyes open, etc. A group of teenagers vandalized the neighborhood one night while we were out of town, and they left our house alone (this wasn't the case for several of our neighbors). In the past, I have been quilty of leaving the TV on when my husband is out of town so I don't feel as vulnerable. Now I can use FakeTV instead and not feel quilty about wasting so much electricity. In my opinion, this would be a great gift for that person who is hard to buy for and who just happens to be a snowbird, or a woman who is at home alone while her husband travels or for older persons still living alone in their home.

I was surprised when I received the fake TV by just what a small package it came in - this thing's tiny! And the power usage is apparently tiny also, making use of new LED technology. But the light it puts out is impressive. We have a TV in our second-floor bedroom, and I did a visual comparison between the fake TV and our real TV (20 flat-screen), as viewed from the back yard at night with the room light off. It was truly very hard to distinguish between the two. The fake TV might have been slightly brighter, but because of the random intensity changes it would be near impossible to tell. There are three settings - dusk to dusk + 4 hrs, dusk to dusk + 7 hrs, and on all the time (suitable for plugging into some other timing device). I'll be using this for sure next time we leave for a few days - along with our alarm system, automatic drape puller, timers on a couple other key lights, and dusk-to-dawn outdoor lights. Highly recommended.

This device is so easy to use. I pulled it out of the box, plugged it in, set the one switch to turn it off 4 hours after it turns on at dusk, and I was done. It is pretty amazing how much it looks like a TV from outside. You just can't tell the difference. Very clever. I was also pleased with the overall quality of it. So many things you order look so poorly designed right from the start.

I just received my FakeTV and put it in the basement next to the walkout door with window blind. It's on a lamp table next to the couch about 6 feet from the wall. I have mine set for Dusk+4, so it stays on for 4 hours a day from about 8pm to midnight. The FakeTV shines bright colored lights on the wall that fade a bit, hold for a bit, then change. The lights are sometimes bright, sometimes dark, and colors vary as well. The lights are random, but not stupid random like Christmas tree lights. It actually looks like a TV is on with a program that shows some action, some still, and then occasional short dark periods that look like commercial breaks. But the patterns never repeat and I would have a hard time telling the difference between FakeTV and a real TV. I think FakeTV does an excellent job of simulating a real TV. It's a small plastic unit that can be placed out of sight. Plus it's easy to install. You just plug it in, aim it against a wall and you're done.

I wasnt sure what to expect, but this device is pretty amazing! Its no bigger than an iPhone, but really is as bright as our television. We looked at it from outside last night, and couldnt tell the difference. The thing I really like is that I dont think it uses any more electricity than maybe a clock. Our neighbor came out, and he wanted to know where we bought it, because his TV is in his basement where nobody would see it from the street anyway.
