The Model DXT-42 2-Button, 3-Channel Key Ring Transmitter is a battery powered, portable, miniature transmitter designed for use with Linear's DX Format receivers. Each transmitter can be used in a limitless number of wireless remote control applications. Pressing a transmitter button sends a digitally coded wireless signal to its companion receiver. The transmitter buttons have a positive click feel.

The digital DX code format features over a million possible codes. The DX transmitters are precoded at the factory to unique codes, so no field coding is required. Transmitters can send a signal for up to 10 seconds with each button activation.

The DXT-42 is a two-button, three-code transmitter. Each button sends a unique code. Pressing both buttons together sends code three. Press button(s) for a minimum of two seconds to insure receiver activation.

The DXT-42 is powered from two 3-Volt Type 1620 lithium batteries with an expected battery life of up to 5 years. When the transmitter's range decreases, or stops functioning, replace the batteries.
A detachable key ring is provided with each transmitter.

  • Detachable key ring supplied
  • DX format
  • RF frequency: 315 MHz

I had my Keepsafer system for about 11 years and everything works perfect! I've lost a couple of key chain remotes over the years but the manufacturer has stayed in business and buying parts is simple. Great security system without the rip off costs of security companies! I even added the remote dialer that will call me and the police and plays a recorded message that the alarm is going off and gives the address. No monthly monitor fee! Haven't had to use it yet...knock on wood.

I've had the DF-42 transmitter for awhile (several years), and the batteries finally died. However, the batteries inside it were CR1616, so that's what I purchased to replace them. The DF-42 did not function after battery replacement. During the years the transmitter did work, there were frequent times when the base unit responded with only orn or two chirps instead of the series of chirps it normally gave. Unless you have a home control system for controlling lights or other things, it would be smarter to buy the single button cheaper one. It took me awhile to get used to finding the button with the raised bumps to press, especially in the dark. Anyway, I think my DF-42 decided to die when its first set of batteries bit the dust.
