I put a transmitter on each of my two driveways about 275ft. from my house. Setup was very easy. No "learning" of the units. Just aim them and your done. The counter on the receiver tells me if someone came to see me while I was away. I have owned the REPORTER for a couple of years and it was fairly accurate until recently when it started going off for no reason. This is a quality product with "real" antennas. The volume is adjustable and quite loud if so desired. It was easy to pick a tone for each driveway unit. What else can I say, try it, you'll love it!!!

The first day I got this driveway alarm, I easily installed it on an existing aluminum post at the end of my driveway. It was extremely easy to program (under a minute). I plugged in the receiver in my house, approx. 500 feet away from the transmitter. I was so disappointed. It picked up about half of the cars that came down my driveway and woke us several times during the night for false alarms. I called the next morning for return authorization. A tech suggested that I mount the transmitter to a wooden stake or a tree because the aluminum pole could be interfering with the transmission. I was skeptical, but it was easy to try. I have now been using this product for a week. It has ding-donged every time a car has entered the driveway. It also rings for pedestrians and animal traffic! It would be nice if it had a clock built in so that the ringer volume is automatically lower at night. We now know that our newspaper comes at 4:27 AM! And it take about 10 minutes for my heart to stop racing. On a positive note, I figure if I order home delivery of The Wall Street Journal and The NY Times, My heart rate will be elevated 3 times a night - for a total of 30 minutes. That means I can stop running on my treadmill each day!! Now that's a bonus. Seriously, a very easy install and so far, a product that does exactly what it claims to. FYI - when istalling the transmitter portion, angle the eye about 45 degrees perpendicular to your driveway (pointing in the direction toward your house) rather than straight across it. This give enough time for the unit 's eye to detect traffic and respond with an audible tone in your home.
