Contacted manufacturer and they wanted me to ship it to them (at my cost), and they will test and repair, and if they determine the damage/failure was due to normal wear-and-tear or misuse or abuse, they will bill $50/hour for the repair, with a minimum turnaround of 4-6 weeks. Figured I should save the money (and the aggravation) and buy a better camera (I now have 16 cameras in and around my home and yard. I wanted to position this on the front of my house overlooking the front walkway. So far it has been ideal. Installation is easy. 3 screws for the base and a hole to fit the rca cable through and your in business. Day views looks great and night views fair slightly less obviously but still pretty good for the price and ease of use. It snowed last night and the picture quality actually looked better perhaps do in part because there was more reflection. Also the weather turned to rain and the camera is working fine so i think it can stand up good to the elements. The only thing thrat i am not pleased with is that you have to drill a hole big enough to fit the RCA connector through. Once you do that, you are basically left with a hole the size of a .05 cent Nickel. What they should have done to help keep the drilling low profile is make a mini connector so that even if it was an RCA connection at the camera, there would be a mini connection between the two RCA ends. If they redesign this it would make the installation easier because if you have to drill a hole to access the camera outside of your home or business you will be left having to fill in that spot to protect it from rain, snow, bugs, etc. otherwise a good camera for a fair price. Hooks into your vcr or dvd recorder for taping if you want to record Packaging says you can connect it to your computer but there is no software or instruction on how to do that.
