Planned on using it outside the home...which is where it is now...for now. I am going to order a different siren for outside the home and use this one inside. Reason: it's pretty weak sounding. Especially outside the home. I guess it will be ok for inside the house mounted on top of the cabinets or somewhere out of site since it isn't the greatest looking thing to be mounted inside. My fault really. I should have paid more attention to the db rating of this unit and read other reviews here before I purchased. Mount it out of sight but in a good enough postion to be heard so it will do the job. An intruder won't want to hang around even if you don't have the loudest siren in the world.
