READ THE MANUAL BEFORE PURCHASE!!!! If you are comfortable with programming (and I mean programming - not configuration), you'll love this system. Took 1-1/2 hours of Tech Support to get this up and going (Thanks Freddie!), but took me 2-days and 2-1/2 frustrating hours of hold time to get through to Tech Support. I am stunned by the review that says "Install was simple." Manual is written by security geeks for security geeks. If you fall into one of those two categories, maybe it is simple. HSS - a few suggestions: 1. You get hammered with online reviews of your tech support hold times. Why not have some sort of appointment setup rather than leave people in queue for 1+ hours at a time? 2. Pre-program option. Send the units out pre-programmed. I know, some folks want ultimate flexibility - but non-installers simply don't have a need to learn how to program all the options this unit has. 3. Fast-start sheet. The installation guide has dozens of decision trees for all sorts of detailed configuration items. These may be important for specialized situations, but a Fast Start sheet would prioritize the most important functions for all users. 4. User Testing. These manuals are setup for installers, not end users who rarely program security systems - there is specialized language that is nonsense to lay-people. Clearly, these devices are designed by security geeks for security professionals. Next to an installation manual is designed for lay-people, suggest you drag some non-industry friends in to see how they do installing stuff like this. Once iSmart gets their act together, they will eat your lunch with DIY'ers 2.0 who were tremendously frustrated by experiences like Visonic. I'm sorry, I just can't recommend this product. It's fine once it's setup, but getting there is way too problematic. Sure, dismiss me for being a tech-dunce, but what if I'm not?

After several break-ins in our neighborhood, my wife and I decided to get a security system. We asked people we knew who had alarm systems what they liked and didn't like about their systems and the conclusion we came to was the Visonic PowerMaster 10 wireless alarm system. The install was a very simple from start to finish. Anyone from the company that we dealt with could not have been any nicer, and we would Highly recommend the Home Security Store!
