I purchased this unit with the high hope of doing it myself. I was a little intimidated by the instructions that came with the unit. I did some research on the internet and watched a few youtube videos to prepare myself before I started the task. I am by no means an electrician. I can do basic plug and light additions and an all around handyman. I started out slow and worked thru it. By Joe I did it with only one call in for support. I did have to figure out a few things on my own, like the group numbers for the sensors have different functions. The manual does not tell you this. They do not tell you that even within the group the number selection has a different outcome on the sensor arming style. (Please forgive me on the group numbering being wrong here, I will update and correct it later.) OK, say the groups recommended for motion sensors is 13 thru 19, well if you set it to 13 it will be bypassed in the stay mode. If you set it the group number 14 it will be armed in the stay mode. I figured this out by accident. I like it tho. I have the motion sensors inside the house in group 13 and the garage set to 14. This way when the alarm is in STAY mode the inside sensors are off so we can walk around he house but the garage is armed. Pretty cool. I found this to be the case with the door and window sensor grouping also. I hope this makes sense. I am still tweaking with the system also. I have not setup my ALARM.COM yet. I will do that when I am complete and get all my bugs worked out and everything installed. I am adding smoke sensors and a few more other items.I will give more feed back later. Great product. I just wish the screen was a little bigger on the main unit.

I purchased this GE security system online and followed the installation instructions and it works perfectly. The best thing was I could install it myself, without having a stranger in my home.
