Through a standard web browser, this module uses internet monitoring and internet alarm reporting to give you full remote control of your alarm system even if you're a traveler. Capabilities expand even further. Now take control of your home or business from PCs, tablets, smartphones or other mobile devices including: iPad, iPhone, Blackberry and Android Smartphones; local and remote access to any web enabled device!

With a web enabled interface, receive instant notifications via email, text message or SMS when your alarm is triggered. It also includes a "time-since-triggered" feature that gives you up to the minute information on what is happening with your system.

This add-on module comes with a built-in web server and html user-interface. From your PC or mobile device (if capable of internet connection), change your alarm settings, view real-time zone status and use event logging to keep a tight grasp on your home and your family's protection.

Say you live in Los Angeles, but you're currently in New York- you can program your module to allow e-mail and text message notifications to an unlimited number of addresses and phone numbers, so if sight-seeing or a business meeting has kept you from getting to an alert immediately, another trusted family member or neighbor will receive the same notification and can investigate a disturbance for you- if you've allowed them to also receive alerts.

Beware of unexpected limitations! You would think that since this device communicates over the Internet and has a way to enter a 30-digit alarm company code that it should be able to talk to a central monitoring company right? Wrong! I called Alarm Relay & others (as of Dec 2011) to learn that they don't support this unit. The workaround is to buy an additional IP unit (TL-150 or 250) which many companies do support. Envisalink announced a new monitoring service to get around this problem, due out in January 2012, but since it's new/unproven that's a little unsettling too.

Does what it says, and does it well. It's like having Alarmnet on an Ademco system, only this is free. Pay once for the device and the service is free. Check out the web forums at the Eyez-on website to read about what other people are saying. Requres NO programming of the panel, auto-enrolls at power-up as a PC5400/DVACS module. Sends out e-mails for every alarm, arm/disarm, trouble, etc including the ability to remote control the system. 99 bucks well spent if you don't want professional monitoring.

I can't believe how easy it was to set this up! Plug the nework cable into this board, make an acount at eyez-on.com, enter the mac address and in no time you are connected to your alarm panel (1832). Nothing to configure with your home network or router settings. I clicked a link in the app store for my Iphone 4 and I now have an icon on my phone, press it and I instantly have info of my alarm panel including partition status and zone open/closings with time stamp on each one. Amazing! And this is all free! I don't think this is possible with any other system and also without paying something per month. Thanks Envisalink! And thanks Homesecuritystore!

The availability of this product really helped determine which alarm system I chose. The Envisalink has not disappointed. I have it in a DSC 1616 and the Envisalink quickly turns the alarm into a connected device. I've had no trouble with the card, and if you're able to program the DSC, the Envisalink will be a breeze. It is true that the manufacturer continues to develop the product; there are periodic firmware upgrades, and changes to the web and mobile interfaces. Regarding whether it is wise to connect your alarm to the Internet, that's your call. In my case, I'm fairly certain that our neighborhood burglars aren't going onto the Internet to hack alarms. Envisalink says that connections to the card are encrypted. Also, in case you get the card and wonder where it goes, the stand-offs match a number of holes on the side of the standard DSC alarm box (not the back, but the side).

I installed this on a DSC 1616 (wired or wireless, it does not matter) and this has been a robust device with great capability. It is true that Eyez-On continues to develop this product (there is a newer version of this card called the EnvisaLink 2DS). But it has been easy to work with (if you can figure out how to program a DSC PowerSeries on your own, this should be a breeze) and I enjoy being able to remotely control and monitor the alarm. Eyez-On maintains that communication with the device is secure, but even if this were hackable, the burglars that hit my neighborhood don't bother with cyber-attacks.

While it took 2 days to program and install my 1832 with ESCORT 5580, it took only 5 minutes to install the IP170D! Why can't DSC make products like this? Anyhow, this product is amazing. As advertised I can control my security system from my Windows smartphone and a bonus (which I wasn't aware of) is that I can control my thermostat too. No more painful conversations with the woman in the ESCORT trying to change the temperature in my house on the way back from the cottage! Alert messages (SMS) of arming and disarming are almost instantaneous, useful for knowing when the cleaning lady leaves, or says she left :-). I would recommend this product completely.

The IP170D has a alot of potiential but is very undocumented. It is very easy to install and you will notices that the only documenation is the quickstart PDF. There is no users guide and there is no documentation of everything it can or cannot do. The local interface is very basic. The mobile interface is unsecure and does not work reliably. I would only buy this device if you are in "play" or willing to work with a Beta device.

DSL and DSC Escort 5580TC are a problematic combination. This is the answer to the problem and instead of filters and hours of programing, it takes 10 minutes to install. Love it!!!!! DSC wake up, this product it is everything your TL-150 should have been.

Outstanding little device and well worth the $99. Just connect to your keybus on your panel like you do your keypads, connect an internet accessible ethernet cable, log-on to Eyez-On website and activate your module. Set up your account, zone and user names and your now on your way to FREE self monitoring. You can access your account through your home network, internet (must use port forwarding rules) or through their website. Send yourself a mobile link to access your alarm panel through your mobile smartphone where you can arm/disarm/bypass/reset/etc and view your system, zone, partition and event status. A truly excellent and incredible device. 10 Stars!
