Designed to withstand harsh environment conditions. The box is constructed of a heavy interlocking welded 18 gauge steel with a durable almond powder coat finish to prevent corrosion. It operates on 12VDC and draws a low 100mA. and generates a sound output of 100 plus decibels. Two UL approved reed tamper switches are designed into the bell box to provide complete tamper protection

I suggested Home Security Store carry this product. Why? some cities/counties DON'T allow outdoor sirens to be used with an alarm system. The City & County of Sacramento, CA prohibits outdoor Sirens, so all of the local alarm dealers (me included) use the Amseco Bell & Box (also called a 'California Bellbox'). Before you install an outdoor siren, check with the local Sheriff/Police department to see if any siren restriction exists, failure to comply with the local ordinance may result in a fine. We just put a system in our barn and my parents wanted a big loud bell like they used to have in school, well I will tell you this isn't it. This is the dullest bell I have ever heard. The construction is well put together, but don't waste your time if you want noise. I would have to say there is a good chance your neighbors, let alone the criminals wouldn't even hear it. If you want to some noise get the Ademco 119db Siren as that thing is small and it rocks!
