I am very happy with my new security system and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relatively inexpensive home security system that has plenty of options. After reading multiple reviews around the internet on Home Security Store, I decided to purchase an alarm from them. They exceeded my expectations! Every review I read said how great their customer service was, but I have to admit I was blown away. It is not common these days that you find a company that no matter who you talk to is top notch!

This alarm system is great! It could have been easier programming and include more door and window contacts, but that's ok. I would recommend this system to anyone who needs home or office protection.

Alarm is easy to install, needed to buy different door sensors. I didn't like the display stays on all the time. There needs to be a screen saver mode. GE needs to get on the ball.

I needed a bit of technical support when I was trying to set it up. So I called the home security store, they got me up and running fast. They understood the product really well and were able to help me with my problems

Manual is horrible. Disc with better manual would not load manual. One sensor failed after a couple of hours. Lid for master control kept popping open unless screwed shut. Back light for master panel is very bright in bedroom at night. Need to cover it up to sleep. It did work except for the one sensor

Received my alarm on friday and installed it on a a Sunday morning. instructions could be better for wiring the phone but the installation was simple and was installed and programmed in about 4 hours. Very easy to operate and install needed very little guideance other than the phone hook up.

Was super easy to install...I added 3 100W sirens with a relay and its super crazy loud...all i could ask for is hardwire fire zone.. my only problem was i lost the tamper springs.. just bought some replacements from ace hardware..keyfob-works great,Door/window sensor-a little big but works great, motion detector-small and compact but a little hard to set off... panel siren-loud....Again, AMAZING SYSTEM!!!!

So i'm going to try and address issues that other people are having as far as programing and using the system, I've had this system for 3 months now and I think it's wonderful. So here it goes: Someone said that the panel does not beep with the piezo horn after speaking, and it does not always speak: Voice input and Piezo beeps must be programmed and on using the installer code. Another person said, "cannot believe that GE left out the basic "stay" and "away" options for arming." This is false. GE most definitely did include these they are just worded different for ease of use and clarity for others, To arm in a 'Stay' mode you would press "Doors+Windows" to arm in 'Away' press "Doors+Windows" and then immediately "Motions" and the panel will announce "Doors and Windows armed. Motions armed." and then beep signifying the command has been executed. It is true you are limited on hardwire inputs, however this unit is being sold as a WIRELESS SECURITY SYSTEM so you should be glad that they give you any. As far as that, Im very satisfied.

This is a good system with a few drawbacks: 1) Pretty limited on hard wire inputs, and siren outputs. Siren output cannot drive a large exterior siren like a GS-580S. 2) Panel is apparently vulnerable to being smashed. 3) Talking keypad does not beep at all (e.g. chime or entry delay beep) and does not talk for everything the panel does. 4) Manual is excellent in some areas, poor in others. Particularly, the section dealing with sensor groups seems to assume knowledge an installer, but not a do-it-yourselfer, would have; nor are there sufficient examples. It doesn't explain how the panel injects X10 signals into the house wiring. It does not explain the problem with burglars smashing the panel, and strategies to avoid this. 5) The manual does not match what the panel has for pre-loaded sensor names, forcing you to scroll through interminable numbers of names to find one that fits when "learning" the sensor. 6) The panel does not allow you to use the same security code for dealer, installer and master code. 7) The telephone test cannot be stopped prematurely, and seems inconclusive. 8) The Index is poor, and what's worse, a glossary is not there at all (e.g., what does "siren supervision" mean?). 9) The manual on the CD that came with the system was limited; the manual online at this vendor's site seemed out of date (at least the pictures were for an older panel). Other than these complaints, it seems to work reasonably well.

I reviewed systems for 6 months online before deciding on this system.I wanted one, that had a lot of options & different sensors. Home Security Store Staff is easily contacted and reply quickly to all inquires...The works hard to resolve any issues you may have with programming or installation and they Back their products 100%

Ok, I'll be honest. I have not completed the installation of this alarm system. However, I figure this is the perfect time to write this review. I'm a smart guy. I'm also good at following instructions. I decided to not be a typical guy and to actually read the installation instructions front to back before attempting to install this system. I assume that anybody here who has posted reviews stating that this alarm system is easy to install and program either works for an alarm company and installs them every day or they were paid by somebody to write good reviews. The installation manual is horrible. I've spent the last three hours reading and re-reading the manual and googling almost every imagineable website for insite on how to program this system and can't program it to save my life. It absolutely, positively does not program the way the manual says it should. I can't change any of the codes. Having a security system with a "1234" code or "4321" probably isn't the best way to outsmart a thief, but the system continually tells me "invalid" with every single code I try to input to change the factory settings. I'll try to not be completely negative. I actually had no problem at all programming the sensors to the key pad. Along with mounting the keypad to the wall, and plugging in the back-up battery, I had no problems at all...that was incredibly easy! I thought it would be a good idea to program all the settings and change the codes before I permanently mounted everything. I'm glad I did. I haven't even bothered mounting any of the sensors yet, since I can't even program the damn keypad! I will be contacting tech support on Monday and will re-write my review once I finally get this damn system set up properly. Unfortunately, it's Saturday and I'm stuck.

Purchased the GE Simon XT nearly two years ago. A great system. I purchased 2 wireless recessed door transmitters for the front and back door for a cleaner look. They work great. I found the Ademco Piezo Dynamic Siren sku 747PD to be the loudest indoor siren available. My system is using 17 window/door sensors, 2 recessed door sensors, and 2 motion sensors. They all work great. Highly recommend this alarm system for reliability and ease of use.

At Front-Line Alert.com this is the unit we install for our SELF and Monthly Monitoring, it is easy to upgrade and to maintain. installation is a breeze. We have added this unit to hundreds of Houses in New York. This is personally one of the best system in the market. The features are out of the norm, every Monitoring Company is beginning to use them, at Front-Line Alert.com, we feel that we discovered this system, and we believe you will love it too.

Great system. Could use another signal out. Used one to indicate if alarm is on or off in the garage (love it, LED signals if alarm is armed), but this will use up the exterior siren out put. This system was installed all by myself and I never installed one. Another hit is the touchpad, easy install here too. Just the plug in for the touchpad is an outlet plug in. I ran an extension cord in the wall and used it inside the wall to eliminate wire dangling outside. Love the design. The only thing missing, why not make this online capable and make an app where you can use your iPhone to arm and disarm.

Installed the alarm myself in about 2 hours and that includes mounting the sensors and looking over the directions. Very very easy to install and setup, i have never installed one before and i thought it was very easy. Just make sure you read thru the instructions 1st and its a breeze. As for this package deal I wish i would have done it a little differnt. Although it all works great, the door sensors are kind of big and are very noticable on the doors. If i had it to do over again i would buy just the Control station and then buy the SMALLER sensors seperatly. Plus i have no need for the keyfob so that was kind of a waste for me. It would come out to be about the same price and your doors would look much better. Other than the large sensors this thing is great and easy to install, even for a first time installer like myself.

Easy to install in retrospective. However, it look me about 10 hours to install (first time). There are a couple of things to be aware of: 1. Manual is NOT written well. Groups were confusing to me. 2. Door sensors (NX-650) was extremely hard to prop open to trip it or for battery replacement. I recommend using a strong 3M double sided tape rather than nailing the sensor Overall very satisfied, except manuals are poorly written and be ready to call tech support.
