You cannot go wrong with this system. I purchased it almost a year ago and installed it myself. I started with no knowledge of alarms and the process was a little frustrating. However, when I got stumped I called customer service and they were great. I had the whole package installed and running in one afternoon. My family uses the alarm on a daily basis and over the past year we have had zero false alarms. This system is a great system at an unbeatable price. I would strongly recommend it and in fact am on this website to order a second alarm for my business.

System is very easy to install. The programming is strange but can be resolved easily enough. The area of coverage is fantastic! Quick tip for all do it yourself installers. Do NOT place the sensor/transmitters at the edge of the wall or window frame. You will cut down the signal strength because of the metal framing used in most tract homes. Overall it works, installs quickly, is unobtrusive, and precise. It's great!

I am finding the programing extremely difficult. I am 60 years old and just average when it comes to being tech savey. It seems like whenever I want to call for some help it is never available. The one time I got someone I could almost hear the frustration in their voice because my question was obviously a little to simple. He did answer my question but here I am again on Sat at noon or 12:30 trying to get programing help and they are not available.

I have been using this system for 6 months now. Overall it is a good buy. I have had a few issues, such as an immediate trip when I enter my front door. This door is on a delay and after I called and talked to tech support, we reprogrammed the contact and it hasn't happened since. I also don't believe in monitoring companies because of the amount of time it will take for the alarm company to get the trip alert, call the local police department, and have an officer available to respond and check things out. By the time all of this occurs, your house is cleaned out. There is one main thing burglars do not like when they are robbing your house. "Noise" So I opted for a roof-top noise maker. The compatible siren for this system is good, but I wanted better, so I ordered a second one. The system, however, does not have the power to drive both sirens so you need to install the power booster. It is an easy install and now when my alarm trips, it makes more noise than you can imagine and I pocket the money I would have spent on a monitoring company.

This is a great system. Easy to install. We did program some door/window transmitters incorrectly & had to wait until Monday to call tech support. The tech was very knowledgable and walked us through a couple of things we still needed to get done. But he was very short and annoyed. I decided to be nice & get what I wanted out of him. At one point he told me we would have to hurry because he was getting off in several minutes. I am very happy with this product and very happy with the knowledge of tech support, but it would be nice if this company had tech support on the weekends and if their staff was nicer to their customers. I have spoken with the lady in the office, Gina on a few seperate occasions and she is always very nice.

I decided on putting in a home security system the same day that my next-door neighbor came over and asked me to walk through her house with her because she had just gotten home from work and found the back door open. She had a break-in that actually happened while I was in my home less than 20 feet away from her house. Knowing nothing about home security systems, I automatically first thought about the professionally installed systems whose signs I see in the front yards of many of the houses in my neighborhood. I called ADT and they came out and spent about five minutes looking around the house. I have a 6000 sq ft house, so you can see they didn't exactly take a great deal of time to look around. The cost estimates from them were $547 for the equipment, installation, and permit from the city to put in the security system. To monitor the house would cost just over $500 a year, and I needed to sign a three-year contract. Think about it for a moment and you will realize that monitoring is simply done by someone sitting at a desk someplace in the world who will call me if an alarm is tripped and if they find out that I am at home and caused the alarm myself, nothing further is done. If they call me and find out that I am not at home they will then contact the police to notify them of an alarm going off in a home. When ADT left, I was uncomfortable about signing up with them. One of my cousins is a sheriff and he suggested that I consider putting in my own alarm system. A little bit of searching on the Internet located home security store.com. A few days of studying and looking at my house as perhaps it looked to a criminal, I decided on this lynx package. I added three additional motion sensors, and three sirens, and the wireless keypad, and four Keyfobs. Way more than what ADT was offering in their package. It cost me about $200 more than the package that ADT was offering. What truly sold me on this package, is that I will be monitoring my own home security system. After the ADT guy laughed, I thought about it for a few minutes and I realized that the monitoring they will do for over $500 a year was something that I could do with this system all by myself. The only difference is that instead of having ADT call me and tell me there's been a break-in in my house and then calling the police for me, my control panel calls me to tell me there has been a break-in and I call the police myself. Perhaps I will consider paying myself the $500 a year that I will be saving by not going with ADT, but in any case that money stays in my pocket, and I have a much tougher home for a burglar to try to break into then I would've had with their system. I was familiar with wiring in my home, because I did do some remodeling in the past and electrical was part of the work I did. That however did not give me any advantage when it came to programming the system. The instructions that come with the package are not even clear enough to help someone who might have already done it once before. Some of the instructions advise me to look in the particular document for more information about what I was just reading. What I found quite amusing, is that the document they were telling me to consult, was the identical document that I was reading at that moment. I did attempt to do the programming myself, and primarily succeeded in creating several situations that the technical support people at homesecuritystore.com later helped me to do over correctly. Without their help programming it might have eventually gotten done, but I would've had a whole lot less hair on my head by the time that I accomplished it. Those technical support guys are very good at what they do, and are very patient. The important thing to remember as they are helping you, is to just do exactly what they are telling you to do. If you are the type of person that for some reason needs to know the exact reason for doing everything, you might find this difficult. For me, realizing that I was not going to have to reprogram this device again, I didn't really care why I was doing something. If it worked after I followed their instructions, that's all I cared about. I am very pleased with my home security system. I see the various lawn signs as I drive in my neighborhood, and when I do I then get a good feeling inside realizing that I'm not spending the kind of money that they are for monitoring, and I am even more secure in my home than they are in theirs. I was given a little bit of wrong information by the salesperson I talked to on the phone, and had to return a couple items that I purchased that really wouldn't do what I wanted them to do. I perhaps didn't explain everything completely clear myself, so I do not blame them solely for the mistake. I'm very glad I found this company and have no problems with recommending them to someone looking for a home security system.

Great system but the installation instructions are extremely confusing. They are written for someone who has been in the business for 10yrs, not the average consumer. And if you are installing the system over the weekend, tech support is unavailable. Once everything is programmed it works great.

I am very pleased with this system. The motion detectors provide excellent coverage. I couldn't fool them. It is a little tricky to program but trial and error got in done in short order. Don't expect tech support from Honeywell BUT tech service through the Home Security Store is great. I wanted the system to call my phone when an alarm was activated. Honeywell told me they could not help me unless I was a registered installed except to tell me it couldn't be done. 5 munutes on the phone with the Home Security Store tech and I had an e-mail with step by step instructions on how to do it. It worked great.
