The DCR-2500 - Dakota Alert Duty Cycle Receiver will receive a signal from the DCPT-2500 - Dakota Alert Duty Cycle Probe Alert Transmitter, which can be placed as much as an impressive 1,500 feet away from the receiver. The DCR-2500 requires no license to operate and features four chime tones to choose from.

The DCR-2500 receiver comes with 4 form "C" relay outputs and 1 12V output which can be programmed to activate for:

  • 1 seconds
  • 10 seconds
  • 60 seconds
  • 10 minutes

Moreover, the DCR-2500 receiver also features a brand new "Reminder" Feature. What this means is that you can choose to allow the unit to flash small LED lights and/or have it sound an audible "Beep" every 15 minutes after an event is triggered in case you missed it.

  • Built-in volume control
  • Four Different Chimes Tones
  • Volume Control
  • LED Reminder Lights

I have one of the buried coil driveway alarms, 1000 ft from my home, on a 7 ft. wood post. It works well transmitting to the DCR-2500. During thunderstorms lightning sets it off regularly and we usually unplug it. We also have 2 infrared sensors on the same system. I think enough of them to order a second one for another property we would like to monitor.

I have used other driveway vehicle/motion detector systems for years (Optex in particular). This is a far better system. I have the vehicle detector (metal) DCPT-2500 Wireless Probe Transmitter as well as the motion detector DCMT-2500 Wireless Transmitter set up along my driveway and talking up to the receiver (the DCR-2500). The system works very well. Excellent range (about 700 feet through pine trees) and in all kinds of rain and fog. The other system, the Optex, has range and moisture problems. The battery life (9v) on the transmitters seems good (about half a year and still working). The receiver (at the house and 110V) has four chimes tones and various abilities to open or close electrical contacts (which I have set to pass the signal on to an X-10 system). In all, this is the best driveway monitor system I have stumbled upon. In addition, while I don't have the version, there is an option to transmit the signals to a portable device. Not a feature I really wanted, but, I have a buddy who carries it with him so he has notice when he is in the barn or out in a field. (I cover that by simply having a receiver in the barn and house.) Good system. Top notch.
