Weak output. I mounted this siren in an open gable vent. Standing about 25 feet away, I can barely hear it over the road noise of passing cars. This will call no attention to my home in the case of an emergency.

My SS-15 also stopped working, but I got two years out of it. Probably better to step up to a more robust horn/siren/speaker if one wants to be, um, secure about it.

This horn is CHEAP (price wise) and easy to wire (I used Cat 5 cable). I wrapped it in a plastic garbage bag (to keep moisture form bothering it) and tossed it in to the soffit over my front door. It is plenty loud. If you forget to disarm your neighbors are gonna know it. I had to pull it back a little further in to the attic so as not to Tee off the neighbors. It feels well built and does what it is supposed to and for $15 dollars it is a deal

This siren does exactly what it is advertised to do. I have added it to a motion sensor powered by 12v at 850ma in my home and when activated it provides a piercing sound that all the neighbors can hear.
