This alarm the very definition of a economical driveway alarm. We clear the table of food, stuff the dishwasher, wipe bar and meet unannounced friends at the door. Thanks.

On its loudest setting, it is still not loud at all. I would not buy another one.

Purchased mine about a year ago. For one, you can hardly hear the alarm, very megar sound. Second, I have replaced the batteries twice now and now it has just stopped working. I would not recomend this device to anyone who has a very long driveway and does not have a straight shot to the receiver.

I have bought seven total of these alerts.."For myself & for my son... I still have the first two that I bought.. First five of those, were of the different model number.. Two out of those five of the first model didn't not last over just a few months.. I still have the very first two, that I bought.. The last two that I purchased were of the newer model numbers.. And work great... The units worked on an adverage of least five years. Even with the two that didn't last long.. I would definity again.. Note: I buy though E-Bay, at the best cost I can get.. Usually, paying no more than $40 some dollars for Sensor and Base..

The system you had before this one was excellent. I had it on a tree next to my drive and anything that came through was picked up. This newer model not only picks up everything in the drive but everything on the hwy. Its not facing the Hwy. I would love to have your older system back. It worked well for three years. When two of my sensors went out I was told that I had to upgrade to this newer system because the older ones weren't available.

For us the product has been GREAT! We have the base and 4 sensors along our driveway to let us know at point people are coming to the house. The price was very good and it performs as advertised. I do wish that it had different tones and was capable of connecting into camera system or audio system. For the price and the sense of security this sense is awesome.

I've had the CWA2000 for less than a year. I have 4 motion sensors. I installed them on the side of our house opposite from the bedroom side for night protection. I began to be suspicious that something was wrong when I realized the kids did not set them off while playing. I took the receiver in hand and triggered each of the 4 detectors one-by-one DIRECTLY in front of them. NONE of them worked. I have a lot of experience with electronic devices of many types. I removed and replaced the batteries in all devices. I tested, cleared memory and re-paired as per manual 3-4x. Each detector was tested with-in 1 foot of the receiver. NOTHING WORKED. Assuming that all 4 detectors would not fail, I assume that the RECEIVER FAILED.These devices are JUNK! Further, when originally installed I tested the range. One mile reception MIGHT work in a unobstructed desert but, at my home, the maximum range WAS about 60 feet subject to normal frame house construction. I have no recommendation for a better brand nor, "any dog in this fight" but, I can tell you from my experience, a dog would be a better dollar spent as opposed to CHAMBERLAIN CWA2000 JUNK.

Nine years ago I purchased the "Reporter" wireless motion detector, good for 50' detection, got good performance and decided to buy another because the "reporter" did work so well. Looked and could not find the "reporter" but found the 'Chamberlain' instead, looking just like the 'Reporter' but the receiver had been remodeled. I rec'd the 'Chamberlain' two years ago and I can't get to perform no better than 15 feet. That sucks, so I had to install it in a walled walk-way. Would I recommend this product? NO! When these new people took over the "Reporter" mfg, they tampered w/the sensitivity for the 'Chamberlain'. 091212.

Have had two of these. Both worked for about a year. Can not depend on to detect - sometime it does and sometimes it does not. Battery holder in transmitter deforms and batteries loose contact. Poor plastic parts.

We have had it for 1 year. When it works, it works great! Most time it doesn't detect a particular mini van. Sometimes it goes off and no one is there. We are looking into another model.

chamberlain cwa2000 The specs say it is good to 120 degrees but I found it works best only straight on. It may be good outdoors given that all the pictures on the package show those scenes but I wanted it for the living room before going up the stairs. It did not work well at 15 feet accross the room at chest level with 30ft. setting - very inconsistant. I set it at floor level about 2 feet to the side of the stairs. It has a delay so that as a person walks across the beam they will have taken 4 or 5 steps to the bottom landing before the alarm goes off. The alarm unit is at the end of the hallway at the top of the stairs. Then it only beeps 2x and stops. If one is asleep 2 beeps is not enough. Also the volume adjust does not work well being 2 pushbuttons insead of a knob control. It is advertised as light and sound but the little led is always lit to indicate power on. At $50 it is a bit pricey. It may work well for a driveway or door entrance way to alert someone inside that there is someone outside and they should designate it as such.

This little set up works great for our drive way entrance. We do pick up a few curious birds that fly by, but for the most part, it is a car or a stray animal that is entering our drive. We have a 210 foot drive way and the monitor picks up great. Worth the money!

Theres only Two volume functions Low and Lower. The Volume from the base, does not allow you to hear any detections. Defeats the purpose of having a motion sensor alarm

Purchased this as a replacement of the same model I had for 5 years. Old one lost its range. They changed the chime and now I cannot hear it. The old one was much better and louder. Why did they mess up a good thing?

We bought this as a security measure when things were being stolen from an estate sight. We now use it at our home, and it works flawlessly to alert us to anyone walking or driving in our driveway. We only monitor about 50' across the yard, but it works. The sun was setting it off once a day, but that was easily fixed by taping a large coffee can lid on top of unit (which matches our brick) and it's never gone off in error since. We LOVE this unit! We keep it on the second or third lowest levels as it is plenty loud to wake us in the night! HIGHLY recommended.

I replaced several of these in past, hoping that possibly I had a defective unit or two. Range is anywhere from 80-110 feet consistently. ANY distance beyond that is hit or miss at best. This unit misses easily 50% of traffic including Fed-Ex and UPS ttrucks. If you need a reliable system, do not buy this unit. The older system had better range, alert volume, and less false alarms.
