Have had two of these. Both worked for about a year. Can not depend on to detect - sometime it does and sometimes it does not. Battery holder in transmitter deforms and batteries loose contact. Poor plastic parts.

We have had it for 1 year. When it works, it works great! Most time it doesn't detect a particular mini van. Sometimes it goes off and no one is there. We are looking into another model.

chamberlain cwa2000 The specs say it is good to 120 degrees but I found it works best only straight on. It may be good outdoors given that all the pictures on the package show those scenes but I wanted it for the living room before going up the stairs. It did not work well at 15 feet accross the room at chest level with 30ft. setting - very inconsistant. I set it at floor level about 2 feet to the side of the stairs. It has a delay so that as a person walks across the beam they will have taken 4 or 5 steps to the bottom landing before the alarm goes off. The alarm unit is at the end of the hallway at the top of the stairs. Then it only beeps 2x and stops. If one is asleep 2 beeps is not enough. Also the volume adjust does not work well being 2 pushbuttons insead of a knob control. It is advertised as light and sound but the little led is always lit to indicate power on. At $50 it is a bit pricey. It may work well for a driveway or door entrance way to alert someone inside that there is someone outside and they should designate it as such.

This little set up works great for our drive way entrance. We do pick up a few curious birds that fly by, but for the most part, it is a car or a stray animal that is entering our drive. We have a 210 foot drive way and the monitor picks up great. Worth the money!

Theres only Two volume functions Low and Lower. The Volume from the base, does not allow you to hear any detections. Defeats the purpose of having a motion sensor alarm

Purchased this as a replacement of the same model I had for 5 years. Old one lost its range. They changed the chime and now I cannot hear it. The old one was much better and louder. Why did they mess up a good thing?

We bought this as a security measure when things were being stolen from an estate sight. We now use it at our home, and it works flawlessly to alert us to anyone walking or driving in our driveway. We only monitor about 50' across the yard, but it works. The sun was setting it off once a day, but that was easily fixed by taping a large coffee can lid on top of unit (which matches our brick) and it's never gone off in error since. We LOVE this unit! We keep it on the second or third lowest levels as it is plenty loud to wake us in the night! HIGHLY recommended.

I replaced several of these in past, hoping that possibly I had a defective unit or two. Range is anywhere from 80-110 feet consistently. ANY distance beyond that is hit or miss at best. This unit misses easily 50% of traffic including Fed-Ex and UPS ttrucks. If you need a reliable system, do not buy this unit. The older system had better range, alert volume, and less false alarms.

Who ever wrote the one star review and/or I can't hear the beep below me has got to be hard of hearing. My base unit is in my bed room in the basement and I can hear it all the way up stairs (I'm 52 years old). I have three sencers and (9 months) to date the base unit has awaken me from a deep sleep five times between the hours 01:30 am and 05:00 am. All five times I have chassed off five differnt car prowlers! This unit is easy to set up and works GREAT!

Very easy to get into service.. My base station is loud enough that I had to turn it down.. Only Problem is that the sender units have very little range.. I bought two of them and you really need to be on top of them before they detect motion.. I tried both switch setting and the 30 foot setting is marginal at 10 feet.. If you put them right beside your Driveway or next to your doorway they should work fine.

I live in a remote area and I do not know if someone is coming up the drive-way. This alert system has been great! I have even purchased an add on sensor for our other drive-way. I have not had any problems hearing it, it beeps twice when someone arrives. Thanks!!

The PIR sensor is marginally acceptable. That is to say, if you point it at a vehicle's exhaust it can be expected to send a signal to its base station. However, the single beep alert provided by the base station is entirely inadequate. If there is any other noise going on in the house (TV, house vac, stereo, dishwasher, etc.), that single short beep will be drowned out by the other noise, unless of course you are right next to the base station. I wanted a driveway alarm that would be at least as loud as a doorbell, and one that would go on long enough so that you could not miss it when it went off. Instead, I got one weak beep and that's it. With this system, the first sound that you will most likely hear is when the intruder breaks down the door or breaks the window glass, not the CWA2000's weak single beep. If you are looking for a real driveway alarm, keep looking. This one is a waste of money.

We have teenage children and have had pranksters display their creative skill throughout our yard. Living in an upscale neighborhood it is an excellent place to have some fun decorating someone else's property. In the past year, we had been struck twice but now with the CWA 2000, we have apprehended two groups. It has other benefits such as detecting when the children have arrived home, guests arrive for dinner or the car pool has arrived in stead of peering out the window and wasting time.

This product is great. When I installed it , the receiver in the house was not very loud, so I called the company and they said they had a problem with some (She asked me for the numbers on the unit and it was one of the problem ones). She said it would be replaced and about 4 days later I had my new one. This one can be heard thruout the house.

the discontinued model is better than this one, had the old one for 5 years. the old one used a buzzer to alert the new one uses a beep which you only hear if you are next to it and through the house like the old unit. brought it back, got my money back
