These are pretty limited sensors. My wife and I tested them to see what it would take to get by them. We needed them to work out to about 30 feet. They will work on a person walking upright at a normal speed at the advertized range (up to 40 ft). It got us at 30 ft. Crawling though it would not detect very well and we repeated crawled past it at about 20 ft, but my wife was able to crawl right up to it and stand below it, as long as you move slow. We just could not feel confident using these and got additional Honeywells put in that are not defeated like this. They do perform much better when you are at about 10-15 ft, but crawling is still iffy and we succeeded frequently. There are better sensors out there for about the same price or a few dollars more.
