Greater Protection. Complete Security
How would you like to offer your customers a security system that provides complete security via a host of devices, including keypads, sirens, detectors and wireless keys, and also supports GSM and IP communications – all of it wirelessly? DSC's 2-Way Wireless Security Suite delivers just that…and so much more.

The Power of Speed with Wireless Installation
The Alexor Wireless Panel is the center component of DSC's 2-Way Wireless Security Suite. Because it operates completely wirelessly, installers have fewer holes to drill and fewer wires to pull. The system – with its full complement of exclusively compatible wireless accessories, detectors and keypads – takes far less time to install than traditional wired or hybrid systems. Less installation time means more installations completed throughout each day and ultimately more installation and monitoring revenue to the installer. Homeowners also benefit. Wireless installation means less waiting around and minimal compromise to the home structure.

Security Without Compromise
Alexor is a wireless control panel, the virtual “brain” of the security suite. Because it is a distributed system, the panel is not attached to the keypad physically, but rather wirelessly. Designed for flexible, secure installation locations within the home, as long as there is access to AC power, Alexor operates via up to four wire-free keypads (the WT5500). If the system changes its armed state or a wireless device is tampered with, Alexor will immediately be signaled and the appropriate transmission will instantly be transmitted to the monitoring station. And because the signals between Alexor Wireless Panel and its wireless peripherals are fully encrypted, communication between all devices is exceptionally secure. The Alexor offers all the reliability of traditional wired/hybrid control panels but with all the convenience that wireless delivers.

Additional Back-up Features via GSM/GPRS and IP Communication Streams
DSC has designed two back-up communicators specifically for Alexor. The TL265GS Internet and GSM/GPRS Dual-Path Alarm Communicator communicates via the IP or GSM/GPRS channels, and the GS2065 GSM/GPRS Wireless Alarm Communicator through the GSM/GPRS channel. Both provide additional back-up (to the traditional phone line communication) alarm communication methods. If the phone line is tampered with, Alexor will instantly switch over to one of the back-up communication streams for its alarm signals. These options are also ideal for homes that rely on either Voice Over IP (VoIP) or mobile phones for their home phone service. With a practically plug-in and play connection to the Alexor, the communicators conveniently utilize the existing Internet connection and/or the GPRS data channel of the GSM network (depending on which communicator is chosen) to ensure high speed, reliable and secure alarm communications. Wireless Device Enrollment & Template Programming Further Simplify Installation DSC’s installation processes and programming help to further reduce the installer’s time at each job. The wireless device enrollment process ensures that installers no longer need to manually program serial numbers or wireless attributes. Instead, a series of enrollment screens prompt installers to confirm Electronic Serial Numbers (ESN), zone numbers and zone type. Template programming allows installers to quickly program the functions required for basic operation by entering a 4-digit code. Code prompts exist for predefined zone definitions, reporting code formats, communication call directions, and DLS setup.

I recieved the system on friday and spent about 3hrs reading and rereading the manual(it is a little tricky to read but makes sense after you start installing it) it took me only an 1.5hrs to install the panel and key pad, program the sensors and then install them, very easy. system was functioning. i did have to go into some deeper programing to make the panic buttons work but very easy to do once you know how to read the manual. i have great reception at all sensors and i haven't found the limit to the key fobs. i do recommend getting the 4 button panel for the bedroom especially if you have kids that set it off while your still trying to get some shut eye on a saturday morning. I have recommended it to everyone i've talked to!

This is a pretty impressive system that has the advantages of wireless without the risk of an all-in-one system. You can hide the control panel and thus avoid the problem of an attacker simply ripping the all-in-one off the wall. Took me about 8 hours to install, but I have a large home and I proceeded carefully. On reception--despite the fact that my control panel is in the basement, in the furnace room behind a steel, fireproof door, (and probably asbestos walls!) there's no problem with reception. My house is spanish style, with plaster walls, tile walls and floors, etc. I'm using the "vanishing" door sensors, which are about 3/8" thin. Nevertheless, it works perfectly. The biggest drawback of this system so far is the manual. It was written by someone who never had a technical writing class, and thus has many failings. The same term is used to describe completely different things. It also just describes things weirdly. For instance, the option for adjusting the volume on the keypad is described as: "Buzzer Control: Used to adjust the keypad buzzer tone for optimal sound" There's a number of problems with this. First, the word "tone" is used to describe pitch, volume, the melody played, and in other parts of the manual, dial tone. Second, what is "optimal sound?" Why couldn't they have written "Adjust Keypad Volume"? This makes programming more complex than it has to be. An example, let's say you want to program the door to chime. Well, you enter *8 (for programming mode), your password, and then you are asked for "section." You enter 800 for door chimes. Then it asks you again for "section," but this time, it is using the word "section" to mean zone. So, you enter 01 for the first zone. Then you are presented with options such as 1--4---. In order to turn off door chime option 1, you press 1. This isn't well explained. So, if you have patience and can read carefully, buy this system and install it yourself. I am impressed by how well it functions, but I am less than impressed with the manual, which seems to be written for a different audience, one that can understand bizarro speak.

The Alexor system is outstanding. The wireless sensors were easy to install and all worked on the first try. The installer manual could be re-written to make it a bit easier to understand but I know it's designed for a professional installer not the average DIYer. You'll need to read the manual several times to understand DSC's alarm programming terminology but once you get used to it makes changes is easy. All the accessory components I ordered were well made and came with batteries which was convenient. Shipping was extremely fast and I was very pleased with the Home Security Store.
