With the proper use of smart phone applications, the video this DVR captures can be viewed remotely via your iPhone. There are several user-friendly iPhone Apps that are compatible with this unit to allow remote-viewing, many of which can be obtained from the iTunes App Store.

This DVR adopts high performance video processing chips and embedded Linux System. Just bought this and plan to return, if i did not through the original box away. The good - easy setup and integration with the iPhone SuperCam & SuperCam Pro apps in the Apple store. To access the unit over the network you may need a little networking background to access the unit. I changed the port from the default "80" so took some "port forwarding" config in my Vonage router configuration. The Bad - motion detection is not the best. I have the sensitivity setting at the max (8) and the unit will not pick up a person walking on the street that happens to be in the "outer frames" of the detection grid. I called the manufacturer, which is a misnomer since the company selling gets the device from Asia. They said all of their DVR devices are most sensitive in the middle and loose sensitivity as objects move to the outer part of the detection grid. The problem with the "8" setting is at night under Infra Red the device picks up small bugs flying around. In short it's too sensitive at night making looking through the device for an event a little frustrating. My previous DVR was great and detected the same throughout the grid. Unfortunately a lightening strike caused video capture problems. But it was not iPhone friently either. Look at the Kaltech device, which is $795. A bit more on the cost but i am betting it will have better, more consistent motion detection. That is what i am looking to move to. BTW, keep your original box for a return!

received the dvr and it works great. remote veiwing is easy. and the menu is easy to understand. as far as hooking it up to the internet, as long as you know all the numbers..ip, gateway, submask etc it will work... it was easy for me and im not real computor smart
