I am an alarm installer in Wisconsin and am using this device for the first time. I installed it in a small outdoor housing around a well pipe to monitor the temperature to prevent the well from freezing. I tested it beforehand and it worked fantastic. The device is approximately 100 feet away from the panel, in an outdoor housing. Reception hasn't been an issue. I would recommend.
