This is the GE DesignLine Slim Doow/Window Sensor. You can Install the sensor on doors, windows, and many other objects that open and close. the sensor transmits signals to the control panel when a magnet mounted near the sensor is moved away from or closer to the sensor. The sensor is equipped with a cover tamper for added security.

They are a bit more expensive, but worth it. The window sensors are small and thin. Less obtrusive that the others that are available. They work well and seem reliable. Each sensor uses two nickel sized watch batteries that are slated to last years. Hint: you can buy extra magnets (item #5899) for your window or sliding glass door. This way, you can have you window open half way and still have it protected by using a second magnet. The other DesignLIne products also work great.
