The Visonic brand is by far a superior one when it comes to the home security Do-It-Yourself arena. That’s because hundreds of thousands of families in over 70 countries rely on Visonic home security systems to protect their homes.

The PPROKTKTGPE - Visonic PowerMax Pro with Built-in GSM Module is one of the latest security solutions from Visonic and it showcases what the company does best. It is a high end security system capable of allowing homeowners to view and control their home from anywhere via any web browser or even cell phone. Keep in mind, the PowerMax Pro has all the great features of the PowerMax Plus security system, but with even more internal add-ons for a more sophisticated approach to home security.

First, one such add-on is the internal GSM (Global System for Mobile communication) module. This module enables the system to report and communicate, not only with landline phones, but with cell phones as well. Therefore, if your telephone lines are cut or disabled the home stays secure and there remains a way for the system to call a monitoring station, or you, or both.

Second, the Pro also supports X-10 interface for home management of alarms, lights, appliances, and more.

And third, through Visonic’s PowerLink and VDNS management platform, homeowners can set up to 4 high quality color surveillance cameras and view footage both live and recorded online. Therefore, wherever you go, you can stay in touch with what’s happening at home or at the office. In the case of an event, you can be notified by cell phone, text, or e-mail.

In addition, the Pro has 28 wireless zones, 2 hardwired, and the system supports 8 user codes, plus it can control up to 4 partitions.

The PowerMax Pro also features a new modern clam shell design, which comes in a silver metallic color.
Another new feature is the incorporation of proximity tags. The tags allow for day-to-day conveniences. Simply hold the tag in front of the reader and the system can be armed or disarmed - no codes necessary. Furthermore, if a tag is lost or stolen, it can easily be deleted from the system.

The Pro is easy to set-up and easy to operate. There are simple menu commands and voice prompts, symbol-based keypad buttons, and visual as well as audio notifications.

Here is a recap and some additional Features –

• High-end, modular design
• Self contained; no need for external boxes

This system does it all! The technology is incredible. Make sure to read the install instructions. They appear to be confusing at first but after studying them the system is quite simple to set up. I currently am using the GSM (cell phone sim card) as the primary means to contact fellow neighbors and law enforcement. It can call up to four landline telephone numbers with a pre-recorded message in my voice of an alarm activation. It also can text an additional four cell phone numbers of an alarm. This system by far exceeds what I had expected. I carefully reviewed this alarm before making the purchase and I got a lot more than I could have imagined. There is no way to list all of the features of this alarm. It was a lot of fun to install. I also purchased an additional wireless siren with blue LED (advertised as strobe) it is not it is an LED which in my opinion is better and longer lasting with less batterY consumption. The Base unit siren is very loud and with the extra wireless siren it is extremely loud. I also purchased the wireless door way key pad and that works great too. Soon I will be purchasing the smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarms for added safety and peace of mind. I have ran many tests with this system to try and sneak around the motion sensors and they get me everytime. I also purchased extra sensors. When the alarm does trip you can expect the parties that you program to receive their phone calls and texts withing 3 seconds of the activation (this may depend on your cell service provider) Very cool system and like I said the additional features that were not advertised is a huge bonus! GREAT RELIABLE SYSTEM!

I purchased this unit primarily for its internet capability to supplement my video surveillance system which already has internet / iPhone access. I previously had a 7 year old wireless system with limited features and restricted distance between the wireless sensors and the control. I was extremely pleased with the capabilities and performance of the PowerMax. The quantity of set-up options is amazing! However there is a bit of a learning curve to correclty execute the programming sequences. The signal strength of even the most remote sensor is very good. I added the MKP-150 Wireless Keypad and the Wireless Outdoor Siren as options. My hard wired sirens are at one end of the house and the Wireless Strobe/Siren is at the far end of the house near a detached storage building. Any break-in at the storage building would surely be deterred by the nearby siren/strobe. The internet and iPhone access are working now, but there were some issues with accessing the PowerLink via Safari based broswers (e.g. iPhone). Visonic provided a firmare update (you must request this upgrade directly from Visonic) and now it works o.k. I don't currently utilize the GSM option nor the remote camera options. After nearly 2 months of use, I've had no false alarms and have sucessfully remotely dis-armed and re-armed it for neighbor access while I was on vacation. I can not think of a feature which I would add to this system. My only request would be to be able to access the system activity log via mobile phone as currently available via remote pc browser access.

You get what you pay for! I spent a great deal of time researching this system in particular and I have to say, "This is a fantastic system for the money". The wireless sensors are unbeliveable in their ability to go through many walls to maintain and monitor connectivity with the base. Some of my 26 differnt sensors (be prepared to spend more on sensors) are more than 100 ft away and are actually going through three 8" solid log walls with no problem. This system, in case you are confused by the manufacturers description, has it all! I can set it up to call up to 5 separate numbers using the land line or, in case your line is cut (alarm for cutting the line too) it will untilize the GSM card (cellular capability) to contact me or send me a text message. And if you have internet access I can have it send me an email, or any combination thereof. And if you dont want to hassel with any of this, you can set it up to be monitored by any monitoring service (ADT, Broadview, Norco, etc). Dont waste your money on "cheap" systems...you will not be satisfied! I have had it installed for over 6 months now and my family and I now feel safe and have peace of mind while at home or away...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Just have a little patience and read the installation manual carefully, and twice. Can be tricky but once you understand the flow process of the instructions, it's a piece of cake. I spent a week with the system spread out on my Dinning room table understanding the programming and operation of all my sensors. In a nut shell...this is my first system so my only experience is with this one...I am sure the others are fine, but this one has it all...just a little more expensive. My family is worth every penny, and then some. Hope this helps you.

Great, couldn't be happier. Programming can be a little intimidating, but isn't hard by any stretch of the imagination. Love the features. Wouldn't recommend the programming cable, it's not necessary unless you have to set up several.
