No More False Alarms

Pet Immune Motion detectors are perfect solutions for avoiding false alarms from four-legged friends that trigger your alarm system while you're away at work. Most of them are very good and will get the job done, but if you're looking for an extremely reliable, amazingly accurate and long-lasting sensor that you'll never have to worry about, then you want the DSC Wireless Pet Immune PIR (passive infrared) Motion Sensor.

Compatible with most DSC Wireless Alarm Systems, it is among the most technologically advanced detectors available.

Accurate Detection

This motion sensor is immune from pets weighing up to 60 lbs. (27 kg). It adapts to changing environmental conditions by adjusting critical detection parameters, meaning it will perform at a high level through cold winters and blazing hot summers. With DSC's patented Multi-Level Signal Processing (MLSP), this alarm accessory provides a more accurate detection of human IR (Infrared) energy over a broad range of temperatures.

Wireless Reliability

433 MHz technology features the latest low power RF (Radio Frequency) technology to extend battery life. With a long-life lithium battery, the sensor is capable of up to 9 years of functionality. With digital signal analysis, digital information is accurately understood and is not subject to signal degradation caused by amplification, noise, distortion or signal clapping. For as long as you need, the DSC Wireless Pet Immune PIR Motion Sensor achieves superior detection and false alarm prevention, consistently.

Product Features

  • Reliable 433 MHz technology
  • Digital signal analysis for consistent detection throughout the coverage pattern

In the 3 years I have had this installed, I have had 3 false alarms (while the system is armed) from my 8 pound Jack Russel Terrier. Like everyone else, I tried different settings unsuccessfully. I also had one of these sensors go off in a empty room with no pets or windows in its range of view. Since that one was under warranty, I sent it back for a replacement and I haven't had any additional problems in that room. (Posted on 5/4/13)

I also have a small 9 lb cat. I have the sensor mounted eight feet from the floor. My couch is six feet from the wall. I have the jumper set to slow. I have followed all the installation instructions precisely which even mention "a cat on a couch" yet I throw a cat treat on my couch and the sensor always triggers when he jumps up to get it. My cat causes "swinger" events from this sensor nearly every day. Since there is no way to adjust the sensitivity this device is unacceptable. (Posted on 6/7/12)

This is tricky... However, YOU MUST READ the Manual! There are several details you must pay attention to. Make sure that battery is removed for 30 seconds, before putting in another. Let it settle for a few minutes before using the unit. Make sure that the unit is properly mounted as per the guidelines. Make sure that sensor side is towards the floor while LED side is towards the ceiling. Do not mount the other way around! It will not work! Make sure that it is vertical... Understand the meaning of 6 second delay. Understand how to set FAST and SLOW modes by changing the jumper setting on the PC Board. Then it works awesomely! (Posted on 5/29/12)

I am a DSC installer, we are facing difficulties when installing those motion detectors and hand them over to the customer, their response sucks, and we have to jump in front of the motion to trigger it if any.. If someone know a way to trigger this motion by simply walking in front of it, please tell me. It is embarrassing to us every time we install a system. I don't care to replace the battery every two years, if it will make the response of this PIR better. (Posted on 2/23/12)

Not pet friendly. I have changed response to slow from fast and still my 9lb cat sets off the motion detector. I have mounted detector 7.5 feet high on corner wall of family room. It is a wide open area with 10ft ceilings. Sensor does not look out to any windows. (Posted on 12/16/11)

This is a great wireless PIR sensor for the DSC wireless receivers and keypads with wireless receivers. It's very easy to setup and it's very reliable. The LED only lights when you're in test-mode to save on batteries. It will only transmit an event to the receiver once every three minutes to save on battery power (unless you're in test-mode). be sure to read the instructions to understand how this test-mode works.
