The Sensaphone FGD1108 monitors your computer rooms, equipment centers, offices, or any unattended facility to detect power failures, temperature extremes, intrusions, water incursion, sounds such as smoke and burglar alarms, and other conditions of your choice.

The Sensaphone FGD1108 automatically contacts you by phone at up to eight different phone numbers, to alert you of unsafe conditions. The system communicates in voice-synthesized English, and even lets you "listen in" to actual on-site sounds.

Accessories and Sensors

FGD1100 The remote temperature sensor is designed to monitor air temperature indoors. It features terminal screw wiring connections, small size, and a convenient wall-mount housing. The sensor is accurate to ± 1ºF (0.56ºC) and has a sensing range of -40ºF to 175ºF. Dimensions: 2.5" x 0.75" x 0.75"

FGD0013 WATER DETECTION SENSOR Can be used with all Sensaphone models to detect the presence of water on a horizontal surface. Independently powered by internal lithium batteries. Multiple sensors can be wired in series to a single input. Dimensions: 2.25" x 1.125" x 3.625"

FGD-0027 HUMIDISTAT Can be used with all Sensaphone models to detect too high or too low a humidity level. Range of the humidistat is 10% to 60% RH. The sensor causes an alarm when the humidity exceeds or falls below the set limit. Multiple sensors may be wired to a single input. Dimensions: 4.125" x 2.75" x 1.5"

FGD0101 WEATHERPROOF TEMPERATURE PROBE These small temperature probes are good general purpose devices for indoor/outdoor applications.They include a sensitive temperature element in a stainless steel housing with a moisture resistant seal. A convenient mounting clip and 12' of wire are included.The sensors are accurate to ±1ºF (0.56ºC) and have a sensing range of -40ºF to 175ºF. Dimensions: 2" long x 0.25" diameter.

Sensaphone 1108 FAQ's

Q:	Are the batteries included?
A:	No. Six standard "D" size batteries are required to operate this Sensaphone during power failure.

Q:	What conditions can be monitored right out of the box?
A:	Everything you need to monitor power, temperature and sound are included with this Sensaphone. The temperature sensor will report the exact temperature wherever the Sensaphone is located. To measure the temperature at a different nearby location, the Remote Temperature Sensor is available (sold separately).

Q:	What's the difference between 1104 & 1108?
A:	The Sensaphone 1104 and 1108 are similar in operate. The 1104 allows connection of up to four sensors (including the temperature sensor which comes with the unit) as well as calls up to four people or pagers. The 1108 allows attachment of up to eight sensors and calls eight people or pagers.

Q:	Can I run this off a 12V battery?
A:	This Sensaphone includes a 110VAC power supply which supplies a controlled low-voltage AC supply to the Sensaphone. If your requirements demand 12V DC operation, please contact our Technical Support department for specific information regarding DC operation of our products.

Q:	Can this be used with digital phone line?
A:	No. All of our Sensaphone products require attachment to a standard telephone line. Sensaphone systems are not designed to operated with digital phone systems such as might be located in a private office. This is because each telephone system manufacturer operates their systems differently. Additionally, our systems do not operate on ISDN networks.

Q:	Can this product speak a foreign language?
A:	This Sensaphone will offer status reports and alarm reports in English language only. If you require a specific language, a more advanced Sensaphone may be for you. Contact one of our Sales Associates for assistance in determining which Sensaphone will accommodate your language needs.

Can I install a desktop dialer directly into a greenhouse or barn?

Yes. This Sensaphone is ideal for use in just about any application. However, when using a Sensaphone in any environment that is subject to moisture, or outdoor conditions, care should be used when locating the unit. Often, one of the higher-end Sensaphone models may be better suited for this environment, which include a NEMA watertight enclosure. Contact a Sensaphone Sales Associate to discuss your specific application further.

Which applications are the line seizure models best suited for?

The Sensaphone 1104 and 1108 are available in a version that supports Line Seizure. Line Seizure means that when the Sensaphone needs to make an important alarm call, it will hangup (disconnect" anybody else from using the telephone line so that a clear line is available for use by the Sensaphone. This is important if you need 100% ability delivery of the alarm message. But not all applications require the line seizure model. If you intend to share the same telephone line that the Sensaphone is going to use with other systems or people, you will want to use the line seizure model. The Sensaphone must be the first 'device' on the telephone line and the other devices plug into the Sensaphone. To obtain the Sensaphone 1104 with line seizure, ask for model number FGD-1114. For the 1108, FGD-1118. If you are unsure if your application requires line seizure, contact a Sensaphone Sales Associate to discuss your requirements.

Q:	What's the max length of wire I can use between the dialer and the sensor?
A:	This Sensaphone can support sensors as far away as 1,000'. All that is required is either category-3 (standard telephone) wire or category-5 (computer wire). You may also use any wire which is between 22g and 24g.

Q:	Can a desktop dialer be used in Europe?
A:	Yes. Many of our Sensaphone systems can operate in just about any country. The Desktop models are available with several power options for 220V 50Hz.

Q:	Can Sensaphone share the phoneline with another phone or device?
A:	Yes. If you have a telephone answering machine attached to your telephone line, the Sensaphone can be instructed to allow you to call into your Sensaphone without having the answering machine answer the telephone call.

Q:	Is there a monthly fee involved?
A:	No. There are never any monthly fees for monitoring with a Sensaphone system. With a Sensaphone, you own the monitoring system and control who and where the any alert calls go.

Do I need to hire a professional to install?

No. The Sensaphone Desktop models are very easy to setup and program. Generally, setup can be completed in as little as 10 minutes. But if you have special requirements such as unique wiring needs or special sensors, you may wish to enlist the assistance of an installer. Just about anybody whose job is to handle low voltage wiring can assist in the installation of sensors and wiring. If you are unsure if your application will require special installation, contact our Technical Support department and they can assist you in determining how much installation may or may not be required.
