Alarm Dialers Voice and Cellular
A key component of a complete security system plan is an auto dialer. With it you can have your home alarm or home automation system call your cell phone, pager, office phone, friend’s cell phone, or any phone number that you pre-program in the case that your alarm is triggered. With some systems it can even call you to let you know when your child has arrived home.
Auto dialers work off a typical telephone line, but there are also cellular dialers which use a cellular link to communicate in the case that a telephone line has been cut or is out. This type of cellular dialer is also ideal for locations where no land line is available.
Typically an auto dialer will be capable of calling several pre-programmed emergency phone numbers. Once a person answers a custom pre-recorded message will play that is usually no more than 40 seconds. If the phone line is busy or there is no answer, the auto dialer will hang up and go onto the next number.
An auto dialer can also be utilized by an elderly or disabled person who might be unable to dial for help in the event of a fall or an emergency. In cases like these an emergency auto dialer is often used with a wireless keychain transmitter that is equipped with a panic button.
In addition, emergency auto dialers can feature 2-way communication via the unit's speaker phone. This allows the person in trouble to carry on a conversation with the person on the other end of the line.
