Camera Brackets & Housing
Not all cameras come with brackets or with housing. That’s where accessories come in. When looking for a camera bracket you will want to make sure that the bracket is the right size and fit for your camera. You want it to be lightweight, but also be able to support the load and weight of the camera itself.
It’s also important to consider if the camera will be installed inside or outside. If it is outside, just like the camera housing, the bracket should be weather resistant or waterproof. In addition, it should be durable, rust free, and able to adapt to changes in temperature.
Camera brackets can be designed for ceiling, pedestal, or wall applications. Typically the bracket will extend from the wall and allow for positioning of it and the camera. In addition, the bracket might feature an adjustable mounting head and allow room for the cable to pull through or conceal the cable all together.
When it comes to camera housing, it is made to protect the camera. Again, it should be sturdy and weather resistant. It should also be made for easy installation and removal of the camera in which it holds.
It is also recommended to look at dome housing if your goal is to capture a 360-degree camera angle or if you would like to view areas that are hard to see. A small or mini-camera will need small housing so it can be concealed. On the other hand, if the goal is for your surveillance camera to be seen, then the housing should be large and noticeable.
