Alarm Remote Controls and Key Fobs

An alarm keyfob gives you the power to quickly arm and disarm your home security system right from the palm of your hand. Depending on the model of the remote, you can also send a panic signal to trigger the alarm and alert the authorities in the event of an emergency. Furthermore, some keyfobs are capable of controlling the home automation of lights and other appliances, plus some of the fancier ones even have built-in LED lights to assist in low-light situations.

A home alarm remote control keyfob is similar to the remote keyfob used to operate a typical car alarm. The small hardware device includes buttons which activate the signals needed to connect with the security system’s control panel. Typically, keyfobs come with two or four buttons, but have been known to have six buttons or more.

The features of the alarm remote control key fobs vary. Other than the features noted previously, some key Fobs may have a full key pad and a talking feature to help you understand your system better.

The convenience of remote keyfobs gives users personal control over their security system and it can do so from a distance. Your keyfob can be attached to a key ring, be worn on a belt, or clipped to a car visor. The keyfob can also be placed by the bedside, couch, or wherever it’s needed so that the user can control their home alarm.

A remote keyfob will typically come with a lithium battery. It is best to know or ask how long the battery should last.
