A Western Pennsylvania woman is being charged for falsely reporting that her dead baby’s cremated remains had been stolen.
According to the District Attorney, the ashes actually belonged to a cat.
Carey Toth, 34 from Johnstown, faces a preliminary hearing April 22 on charges of making false reports to law enforcement and unsworn falsification for statements she made to police.
The Tribune-Democrat of Johnstown reported last week that the Cambria County coroner had no death records for Toth’s son.
