Unlock features of your DSC PowerSeries or Honeywell Vista home security system with the EVL-3 Envisalink Internet Alert module. Your home security system is powerful and was meant to be able to communicate and alert you no matter where you are in the world, but it takes this one of a kind module to gain remote access to your home monitoring system. This internet module is only compatible with hardwired DSC PowerSeries & Honeywell Vista alarm systems.

Through a standard web browser, this module uses internet monitoring and internet alarm reporting to give you full remote control of your alarm system even if you're a traveler. Detect intruder activity, respond to alerts immediately and use the web monitoring technology that allows arm, disarm, zone bypass and PGM control directly to your system.

Capabilities expand even further. Now take control of your home or business from PCs, tablets, smartphones or other mobile devices including: iPad, iPhone, Blackberry and Android Smartphones; local and remote access to any web enabled device!

With a web enabled interface, receive instant notifications via email, text message or SMS when your alarm is triggered. It also includes a "time-since-triggered" feature that gives you up to the minute information on what is happening with your system.

This add-on module comes with a built-in web server and html user-interface. From your PC or mobile device (if capable of internet connection), change your alarm settings, view real-time zone status and use event logging to keep a tight grasp on your home and your family's protection.

Say you live in Los Angeles, but you're currently in New York- you can program your module to allow e-mail and text message notifications to an unlimited number of addresses and phone numbers, so if sight-seeing or a business meeting has kept you from getting to an alert immediately, another trusted family member or neighbor will receive the same notification and can investigate a disturbance for you- if you've allowed them to also receive alerts.

Astonishingly, this tiny module that hooks right into your current DSC system travels the lengths of the earth to put you in much more control of your home alarm system.

  • Simple to hook-up
  • Built-in web server and html user-interface
  • 128-bit encryption

Just installed a new DSC 1864 panel with several LCD message panels and 32 zones. Out of the whole alarm configuration this device has always just worked. Now that the alarm is mostly functional we still can not set it as the builder is still trying to finish the house but we use a Lorex camera system and this alarm monitor thru the eyez-on website to track all activity inside and out of the house even without arming the alarm. This device is incredible. I never plan to use a monitoring service again!!! Thanks eyez-on (Posted on 10/28/14)
Great add-on for Honeywell Vista panelReview by Tom

I had to upgrade our inherited Vista 30PSE panel to use the EVL-3 module as it requires newer system IP protocols (Eyezon's website tells you which systems are compatible). Just $70 for the Vista 20P control board and re-using all the original hardware was well worth it.

The Vista panels require quite a bit more programming than the DSC's and I was a bit skeptical as to how easy this would be. However having followed Eyezon's installation instructions the unit was up an running with no problems at all.

The Eyezon website interface is "basic" but very functional. We're only using it to self monitor alarms and system troubles and the email/text functions seem to work very well. Being able to arm and disarm from you computer or phone is a great bonus.

I highly recommend this product. (Posted on 9/5/14)
V.Happy / Surprisingly Easy to InstalReview by RWS

I have a 5-6 Year old DSC system (in a second / mountain home) that I wanted to internet enable. I am happy with the capabilities (heat / water / temperature / motion / door / CO sensors) of the DSC system, but I had no remote monitoring. Our primary home has an ADT based system with Pulse (which works very well) that I wanted to emulate, but given we are remote (geographically) trying to get ADT to quote for a system proved difficult, and I didn't really want to replace a relatively young system. I got a quote from the local alarm co that originally installed the DSC system. The cost was $1000+ plus $50 per month monitoring, and even then the system was dependent on a phone line and I was suspicious of the capabilities of any remote monitoring / app based system via a phone line. So ... I installed the EVL-3. I was lucky that I had a router close to the DSC system. It was real easy to instal (and I am no techie), less than 30 minutes, including watching the YouTube videos. Their web site makes it easy to apply a description to a zone number so any notification is meaningful.

So for <$100, a 30 min install and another 30-40 mins set up I am very satisfied and frankly surprised it was so easy! Highly recommended. PS I did check with the Home Security Store Help line to ensure compatibility prior to purchase (they were v.helpful). (Posted on 7/23/14)

When interfaced to a DSC panel, nothing could be easier to install and get to immediately perform. This is a very elegant solution for remote control and monitoring of your alarm system! Setup is simple by just following the few steps detailed in the accompanying instructions. Best of all, there are no monthly fees and you are connected via Internet from anywhere in the world. GREAT Product!! I have not found anyone offering this unit for less than the Home Security Store. Some suppliers are charging $30 higher than Home Security Store. This is a great deal! I recently purchased and installed the EVL-3 on my DSC-1832 system. The install was very easy and it was operating as described within a short amount of time. My work schedule keeps me away from home for several days in a row and this device allowed me to monitor, arm, disarm and view zone open/closures remotely. I am very satisfied with the integration and functionally of the product and web-based interface is great. I did have to call my alarm company and have them disable the alarm station notification and then requested the installer code which gave ME control of the entire system. The best part was canceling my monitoring service. I tested the text alerts and would receive them almost instantly from alarm activation. I access the alarm via iPhone and MacBook flawlessly. Very pleased with this. It's like having one of my alarm system keypads right in my pocket at all times, plus provides free basic email/SMS alerts and the ability (for an additional fee) to use IP-based monitoring services without a phone line.

Setup on DSC is very easy - no programming on the panel needed. (Ademco apparently requires some programming.)

Note that the online portal is not anything too fancy and basically offers just the functionality of a keypad. If you are looking for some sort of remote control beyond what you could do on a keypad at home, you might be disappointed.

I think this is great for self-monitoring. I am not sure it would be as great for using it as a monitoring service connection. (Posted on 9/27/13)

My intentional use was to act as a wireless key fob for when I am outside of the house. Garage door on the alarm system and the timing of getting the car out of the garage and closed was an issue. Hence, this easy installation beats buying, installing, and programing a wireless key fob.

Plus, if you have OCD and want to know if you closed your garage door, etc you can look it up without turning around. I don't recommend using your app and driving but you can arm it over the internet and mobile app. You send an email link to yourself and click it with your phone and it works. I have a Galaxy4 an android phone and it works fine. The LAN software by computer is accessible by MAC safari or PC windows 7 IE8. The zones can be named in the website. It's a menu named manage device upper right corner. The website is pretty but you have to hover around it and click into all the menus to fully understand it. I was able to name the zone numbers. They don't come across automatically from the panel. I have re-entered the zone names. No big deal. I only use the free service. With respects to the email and texting function this appears to be a $60 service per year as I have entered my phone and email with verifying pins and it still doesn't work. I already have a monitoring service and the price is about the same. No sense in having to deal with more phone call etc. Also, the events log doesn't seem to work either. I suppose this works with a paid service. There is a small 5 event cycling log that is a couple of hours behind and misses some events. Overall, this modue has served it's purpose for me and I am happy. (Posted on 7/27/13)

I take back the email/ text comment as a paid service. It works as free service. About an hour or so after doing the verification pins it started sending the texts and emails. The texts and emails come out anywhere from 2 min to 30 minutes. Arming through the website doesn't generate an event. Obviously, you know its armed because you armed it. But, others on the contact list wouldn't know. Still a great product. I love it. (Posted on 7/27/13)

I was looking for a way to push alarm text and emails to my phone, and read about this device. I installed one in my Ademco Vista 15P. I've never done anything with alarms systems so I did have some problems getting the alarm system programmed. The instructions don't tell you what programming changes you have to make. In my case, when the alarm was activated the website would show I had an alarm, but it didn't send out a text or email. I searched forums looking for a solution, but couldn't find step by step directions for the layman. I eventually figured out I had to change the Zone Alarm settings in the alarm programming. That required that I update one of my control panels to an alphanumeric device. Once I got the programming figured out, it worked like a charm. It was everything I was looking for. An easy way to arm and disarm the alarm, and get notifications. (Posted on 7/27/13)

Super easy to setup. No issues with module whatsoever. EYEz-On website is a bit unorganized and confusing. The IPhone interface isn't an "app" it's a web page. It works well enough. I would prefer if the event list would list zone status in order of most recent interruption instead of the order of the zone numbers themselves.

It's a must have in my opinion if you have a DSC panel. Big bang for your buck on this one! (Posted on 7/10/13)

It does work to arm/disarm the system, but the interface is pretty poor.

You can only see zone numbers on alerts.

Requires drilling holes in the honeywell panel for mounting.

It would be nice if you could enter text for the zones.

The device consumes a keypad instead of operating
As a remote monitoring device.

The events sent via email are not great:
Security Event: Zone 1 Alarm
Location: sitename
Time: 2013-04-12 12:00:00
Partition: 1

You can directly log into the device on the local network, but the interface is even worse. (Posted on 4/11/13)

Very easy to setup on the DCS panel, but it would be nice if they had a Wi-Fi version. The company told me they were working on that, but I wouldn't expect it any time soon.

Almost instant feedback regarding activity. Great/free reporting via email/sms (email specific to carrier). Ability to set types of alerts you want reported.

The optional internet based monitoring company (8.99/mo + $39 first year setup) seems fine and as cheap as anything else I've seen. The don't monitor line breaks/internet down, but YOU can monitor via SMS or email.

The only slight negative is that Eyez-On seems like a relatively small operation. Eyez-On Tech Support/Sales is by callback or email. They do call back or return emails relatively quickly. Also, their web site could be a little more intuitive/easier to find things regarding setup/options for the user.

Overall, a great value! (Posted on 2/4/13)

I was initially skeptical of this unit's compatibility with Honeywell Vista series brain due to it just came out and some research online provided conflicting information. However after installing it successfully with a Vista-20P I have been blown away with the features it provides. Some very minor notes/suggestions => I had to drill 3 mounting holes into the metal control box to mount the device (no problem but the provided instructions I think were for the DSC unit - it would have been nice to have updated instructions). Second while the website (which acts as a keypad) is feature rich, it is a bit dis-organized and could use some love with regard to the term "user friendly". However after some time I was able to navigate around to get done what I needed to. For a one time cost of $99 I got my own personal keypad that I can remote access from my primary house and android phone (alarm was installed in a vacation house). I have been completely satisfied with my $99 purchase... so much so that I have recommended this product for my father's house. (Posted on 1/22/13)

AWESOME! Installed my 2DS on an old PC1555MX DSC board. It works great! I put a shortcut on my android to the mobile link that they advised. It's simple and intuitive. I'll probably only use my keypads to enroll new devices unless I take the time to learn the full command structure. Doesn't seem worth doing that because both the mobile app and the device web page do everything I need. Be advised... If your router is not near your alarm box or a keypad, you'll have to run some 4 contact phone line or an ethernet cable to make up one or the other connection. You can splice the 4 wire connection (red, black, yellow, green) right into any of the keypad hardwired lines at any location and piggyback right off the line. You don't need a separate line. However, you do need a separate ethernet cable to your router. Be sure you power down your system and do continuity checks before wiring in your 2DS and firing it up. My nearest ethernet connection is on the other side of the house. So, I used an obsolete phone line to route the 2DS. Enjoy! (Posted on 7/24/12)

If you are on the fence... GET THIS!!! So far so good. I am able to arm/disarm my DSC 1832 via any computer, but more importantly also from my Droid Maxx Smartphone. It looks like there is no Android App, but after you register the product, they give you a link to your particular page for mobile use. Just make a bookmark of that page and then make a shortcut on your home page to that bookmark. Works great.. almost just like an app. You may need to log in each time, but that is good to have should you lose your phone.

It was super simple to install. I don't know too much about alarms as I had my system installed for me and I am having it monitored through a local company who has the installer code. Not having the installer code made no difference. There is a YouTube video walking you through the install and how to activate and setup the product through the eyez-on website. Even I could do it. Just search "2DS install" on YouTube and it should pop up.

Great price and you will have no monthly fees! I look forward in the future to see how this works with cameras, as it is supposed to support them as well. Quick shipping from Home Security Store, but it was missing the Mounting Stand-Offs (comes with 3). Home Security Store Shipped them out quickly, but when they got here 1 was broken. I just made do, and 2 held it on just fine. If everyone knew how easy this is and with it having such a low price, I think if you own a DSC system you should get this... you will not regret it!

Beware of unexpected limitations! You would think that since this device communicates over the Internet and has a way to enter a 30-digit alarm company code that it should be able to talk to a central monitoring company right? Wrong! I called Alarm Relay & others (as of Dec 2011) to learn that they don't support this unit. The workaround is to buy an additional IP unit (TL-150 or 250) which many companies do support. Envisalink announced a new monitoring service to get around this problem, due out in January 2012, but since it's new/unproven that's a little unsettling too. (Posted on 12/22/11)

The availability of this product really helped determine which alarm system I chose. The Envisalink has not disappointed. I have it in a DSC 1616 and the Envisalink quickly turns the alarm into a connected device. I've had no trouble with the card, and if you're able to program the DSC, the Envisalink will be a breeze.

It is true that the manufacturer continues to develop the product; there are periodic firmware upgrades, and changes to the web and mobile interfaces. Regarding whether it is wise to connect your alarm to the Internet, that's your call. In my case, I'm fairly certain that our neighborhood burglars aren't going onto the Internet to hack alarms. Envisalink says that connections to the card are encrypted.

Also, in case you get the card and wonder where it goes, the stand-offs match a number of holes on the side of the standard DSC alarm box (not the back, but the side). (Posted on 10/27/11)

I installed this on a DSC 1616 (wired or wireless, it does not matter) and this has been a robust device with great capability. It is true that Eyez-On continues to develop this product (there is a newer version of this card called the EnvisaLink 2DS). But it has been easy to work with (if you can figure out how to program a DSC PowerSeries on your own, this should be a breeze) and I enjoy being able to remotely control and monitor the alarm. Eyez-On maintains that communication with the device is secure, but even if this were hackable, the burglars that hit my neighborhood don't bother with cyber-attacks. (Posted on 10/3/11)

As advertised I can control my security system from my Windows smartphone and a bonus (which I wasn't aware of) is that I can control my thermostat too. No more painful conversations with the woman in the ESCORT trying to change the temperature in my house on the way back from the cottage! Alert messages (SMS) of arming and disarming are almost instantaneous, useful for knowing when the cleaning lady leaves, or says she left :-).
I would recommend this product completely. (Posted on 8/17/11)

The IP170D has a alot of potiential but is very undocumented. It is very easy to install and you will notices that the only documenation is the quickstart PDF. There is no users guide and there is no documentation of everything it can or cannot do. The local interface is very basic. The mobile interface is unsecure and does not work reliably. I would only buy this device if you are in "play" or willing to work with a Beta device. (Posted on 8/8/11)

DSL and DSC Escort 5580TC are a problematic combination. This is the answer to the problem and instead of filters and hours of programing, it takes 10 minutes to install. Love it!!!!!

Outstanding little device and well worth the $99. Just connect to your keybus on your panel like you do your keypads, connect an internet accessible ethernet cable, log-on to Eyez-On website and activate your module. Set up your account, zone and user names and your now on your way to FREE self monitoring.

You can access your account through your home network, internet (must use port forwarding rules) or through their website. Send yourself a mobile link to access your alarm panel through your mobile smartphone where you can arm/disarm/bypass/reset/etc and view your system, zone, partition and event status.

A truly excellent and incredible device. 10 Stars! (Posted on 5/18/11)
